Welcome to the shop! This week I show how to paint and weather Pink-Foam Rocks that I carved and primed last week. I also show how to make Jungle Vines from Hot Glue, with Paper Punched Leaves!! Thanks for watching, and I'd love to hear what you think about my video!! Take Care, Bill.

Love the colors you put in there!

Thanks Josh!! I was thinking it needed to be pretty striking to be seen behind everything else. The vines I had the chance to see in person many years ago and I think mine came out pretty close to the real thing. Take care, Bill.

Thanks Scott, Thats really nice to hear!!! I just seem to do better with creating things by hand I guess. I did fine in business for 30 years, but it was a job, and what I really enjoyed were my weekends when I had the chance to build things in the garage. My wife is super supportive, (unless I forget to do my half of the chores... which has happened...😇) so I spend all my time out here and it's fertile ground for doing this type work. I think of my shop as my Jr. High art building where they had Art, Music, Wood Shop, Metal Shop, and the Ceramics room. It was all in one building and it was amazing!!! Doing this full time now as my job hasn't made it one single bit less enjoyable, although i'm busier than I have been in 15 years!!! Take care, Bill

Inspired work, beautiful details...love the realistic and splendid roots and vines!👍👍

Thanks Phil!! The roots are very delicate, but the vines are really tough, so its a little dance getting it all together. Great to hear from you, Take Care, Bill

Absolutely brilliant work! Outstanding. I use pink foam in almost all my dioramas, so useful.

Thanks Robert!! It's definitely got its challenges, I love working with the vines and rock, but the roots are delicate so I have to watch every move I make!!! Take care, Bill

Thanks Simon!! I sometimes think I "Over-cook it" and add too much, but I also try to think of it as a movie set, and I'm exaggerating some things on purpose. I still need to add small rocks, sand, and debris, but I need some things to cure for a good bit, (all that water...) The vines are from another channel I've seen. I've modified it to my own needs, but its basically the same idea. I also love the texture it adds!! Thanks for watching Simon, its nice to hear from you!! Take Care, Bill

Hey buddy! This is turning out great! The real roots really add to the realism and they’re free to boot! I’ve been using them as well as some other plants that have died over winter and make great armatures. You’re probably good since you coated like you did but after some research I found those things will continue to rot and decay over time. So I found that after you bring in and dry out in over to kill any insects… I “know” you did cause I “always” do 😉 but after soak it in about a 50/50 or 65/35 mix of water and glycerin. Then dry again and they not rot out. I’ve been watching but forgot I was logged into a diff profile. I was watching an older bud and seen my name on screen and was like hey.. thanks for the mention. So I had to switch back over for our extremely too long posts we have 😆 There we go.. lol

Hi Michael, Great to hear from you!! I have to agree, I did see a later video about using Glycerin, I think it was Luke Towan, Im going to try that. I'm glad you saw the shout-out, I appreciate cool suggestions, I can't do them all, but that worked out very cool!! Take Care, Bill.

@@ScaleModelCraft I went back to watch again because I wan't to incorporate some Arduino lights in my diorama and just happened to catch it. Guess I missed it first time. I don't know anything about programming but it seems like it's not too complicated. And to have the control over each light is awesome. Can you suggest some vid/site you went to pick up what you've learned? Seems it pertained to what we're doing. Thanks buddy!

Thanks Guy!! It was a difficult one because I had to film all week instead of 3-4 days, and I just couldn't seem to get enough footage as everything had to dry overnight....It's late but I wanted to show the entire process. Take Care, Bill
