Fact check: Why metro is possible in Guwahati- 1) There is ample space in North Guwahati currently. If the government wants to spend, the entire North Guwahati can be connected by metro. As it is developing now and many new and big projects are constructed, so the North Guwahati side has the scope to be connected through metro. From Amingaon to Baihata Chariali and even beyond that. 2) The West Guwahati can also be connected by metro. Atleast till Guwahati University from Mirza and Chandubi. This entire area is also available to built metro routes. 3) Around the Guwahati national highway. Many spaces are available across the national highway sides. This can be built from Jalukbari area to Khanapara/ Jorabat and getting it connected till 14th Mile from Jorabat as well. 4) As the Semi Conductor plant is being built, therefore the metro can be built from Sonapur to Jagiroad. 5) From Panikhaiti till Chandrapur and it can be extended till Morigaon as well. Thus, these areas of West and East Guwahati and the entire North Guwahati's sides can still be developed with metro routes. But only if the government has the intention of spending it effectively. Instead of building flyovers, which although is necessary and its wonderful but, the money should have been spent on building metro routes and stations in these areas. I hope my suggestions reach our state and the central government. Someone can share this suggestion with them if anybody is reading this. Otherwise, than late Tarun Gogoi sir had already planned it much earlier within South Guwahati itself back than. Had it not been possible why would the than government led by Gogoi sir thought about it. Everything was already planned and about to begin, but since the BJP government came and specially when Himanta sir took over, he changed it by building flyovers instead. So, anyone from Assam or Guwahati here reading it, do pass on this message and the idea.

Upper assam is seriously neglected as well.. with development immigrants is on the rise... Living indegenous community with less resource... More than half of assam population is non indegenous... 2 to 3 New planned cities are required to settle all the immigrants, so that the area can be reforested and the land which is left behind can be used for indegenous..

I hope you know and understand, dollar-rupee exchange has nothing to do with infrastructure delay. These are not imported stuffs. Delays increase costs in infras not because of exchange rate but because of inflation over time, extended labour costs and materials weathering. And on bigger picture, don't go with political mudsling of rupee depreciation under whose regime- it's not the measure of economy or national prestige.[ Eg.- China forcefully kept it's currency depreciated for decades against the dollar].
