Doordarshan proudly presents a promo of "Mahakavi Bharati" - 26 part Docu-drama commissioned by DD

On this birth anniversary of Subramania Bharati, Doordarshan is proud to release the trailer of its latest venture "Mahakavi Bharati", a 26 part Docu-drama series on the life of one of the greatest Tamil poets of the 20th century, a daring journalist, independence activist, and a social reformer to the whole nation.
The series is produced by Krishnaswamy associates for Doordarshan.

Both Isaikavi Ramanan and Naveen Kumar play the title role of Bharati (older and younger) while Dharma Raman and Deepika Raja play the role of Chellamma (older and younger). The series features a host of artistes including Kathadi Ramamurthy, Y.Gee. Mahendra, Elango Kumanan, and Logesh Natarajan. While the title song is composed by Rajkumar Bharati, there are a plethora of songs arranged by T.S.Ranganathan and Shankar. Singers include Rajkumar Bharati, T.S.Ranganathan, Magizhan, and Sruthi.
The series not only visually depicts the life of Bharati, but also enhances the experience of understanding Bharati, through snippets by literary stalwarts such as Suki Sivam, Dr. Sudha Seshayyan, Sivasankari, Vaanavil Ravi, Va. Ve. Subramaniam, Rajkumar Bharati and Niranjan Bharati.
