This was only slightly over half a lap, a full lap is 37.73 miles, and takes 16.30 to 17.00 minutes to complete. As riders set off on their own at ten second intervals, they're really racing the clock rather than each other, so the first man to complete the 6 laps is not necessarily the winner. SUGGESTION: If you would like to follow one man's dream of winning the Isle of Man TT you should look at the video "The Isle of Man TT Documentary - Worlds Most Dangerous Motorcycle Race". Its a fascinating insight into why people need to take part in something so dangerous. Warning; there are accidents caught on camera.

And on Mad Sunday the public get to do it. OK in recent years they have put speed limits in some areas but the mountain section is still unrestricted.
