Hello Sayed, Its not at all necessary to learn about printing design, but UI Design is work of perception, visuals, usability, color, styles etc... which surely required a background in Graphic Design understanding. So, go for Graphic Design and then shift to UI Design. All the Best.

no, you don't need graphic designer to be UI designer. It's a myth. Why do you need to be graphic designer for UI? it's totally different field.

Hello Robin, In order to design intuitive interface, you should have knowledge of visual representation, typography and color, which will present and provide interaction between user and your design. So, it is very important to understand the Graphic Design. Without Graphic Design knowledge you cannot make good design. All the Best.

Here's the thing, you still don't need to be a graphic designer first to learn these skills. You can learn without going into graphic design. The graphic design itself is very vast. Not everyone gets to learn all these skills in a graphic design. Color is very important, I will give you that but it is different than graphic designing. You need to know what kind of colour you want to give in every element of your UI which would invoke user's emotions. You can learn about colour theory or UI's colour on a website without going to graphic designing. You can also learn about typography without going into graphic design. I was graphic designer once and it didn't help me a little bit into UI but the software I used for graphics designing those help, not graphics designing's skill. Hope it helps you :)

Hello Sheeja, You can definitely work as UI Designer. You dont need to learn HTML, CSS, JS if you want to become a UI Designer. When you'll apply for job in IT companies, apply as Asst. UI Designer and not Web Designer and clearly mentioned the company that you are only into design and not programming. This way you can start your career in UI Design. All the Best.
