These days even Indian women living in US do not want to come back to India because they do not want to take any responsibilities back home. I do not want to sound sexist, but in general, I have observed that most Indian women are too much infatuated with American life & career. Living an American Dream is their priority. I am a first-generation Indian living in US. I went to school in Chicago. In about 10 years I will be back to India once my son is out of high school. Glad to see that you have assimilated nicely into Indian culture for the sake of your partner. Life is all about give and take. In the end, sacrifice in a relationship is the key to happiness, and I am pretty sure, your partner must be really grateful to you for that.

In India people live in joint families bcz they have no choice. They can't AFFORD TO live separately. If they CAN AFFORD it, they move out. 🤷🤷🤷

Abhishek's family has always been very accepting of me. But I had already lived in India and spoke fluent Hindi, so I guess I was already kind of "indianized" in a sense.
