Joe Walsh, the guy with the red bandana, is known for his crazy personality (in a good way). My brother saw them a couple of years ago and he said he still steals the show. The Eagles sounds just as good in concert as they do in the studio - so beyond talented. At least three of them had solo careers as well Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Glenn Frey. Another great one from this concert is the shy bass player, Randy Meisner, singing "Take It to the Limit".

Another great band in the same era to check out is a group called "The Band." And they're named that for a reason. They consist of five Canadians and one American, an iconic drummer named Levon Helm. If not previously mentioned, Jackson Browne wrote much of this song but had yet to finish it.... Glenn Frey lived upstairs from Jackson and heard him writing and trying to finish the song. He asked Jackson if he could use the tune for the Eagles depute album but JB was having problems with it. Frey helped out, coming up with the line, "Its a girl my lord in a flat bed ford.... JB gave him song writing credits and the rest is history. There is a great early video of the Eagles with Jackson Browne and Linda Ronstadt singing the tune.

The Eagles just practised a lot. The Amazing Rhythm Aces used to tour with them, and they just stated that fact when some "journalists" accused them of merely playing to a backing track. Nope. They were just that good. Now? They can't hit the same notes anymore and actually do rely on a backing track for some of their vocals. How the mighty have fallen!

Glen Frey talks clearly about how he learned to write songs once he moved to Los Angeles. His neighbor in the basement apartment below him was Jackson Browne with a tea pot, lost of weed and hearing the same song building word by word line by line a thousand times a day. First one line, over and over until the next rhyme presents itself.
