Indie Ridge Crow Boots & Glove Review

A while back Indie Ridge sent me some gloves and boots to test. So I've been wearing both a lot! All my thoughts on the boots and gloves are in the video so I won't repeat myself here :) If you have any questions on anything in the videos please let me know!!

Apologies again for the late release. I'm still travelling with work and things are hard to keep on my usual schedule :) Anyway, I actually used the gloves in 30+ degree weather in Tampa the other day and they were lovely! Not sweaty or anything. Let me know what you think of the video :)

Thanks! And will continue using :) That's fair, I like them on the Magna and on hot days, on the sportier bikes I tend to use my Knox gloves and longer gloves just in case. That they do :)

@@TheGorillaBiker Im thinking of getting a pair of the "runner" style boots for the summer as I do find my current boots a bit hot, same with my gloves. Where did you get your Knox gloves from my good sir

Sorry on the late reply youtube never told me about it! I just scan back through them every so often to see have I missed any! Yeah that's it, I was going to buy a set anyway and was just very lucky Indie Ridge sent me a pair! I got them from AMI(Overlanders) in Gorey!

Aye they're not cheap but still going!! Just be aware they do break in HARD, tough leather.

The only boots that have lasted for me were a pair of Tony Lama made to measure cowboy boots. Outlasted the CB750, FZ750, FZR1000, Buell, and numerous little bikes here. Finally succumbed to terminal mould due to the humidity here. Normally my racing boots would only do a season at most. Gloves have always been consumables for me, new winter pair each winter, racing pair one season. Don't wear gloves here 🙃. Small point, methinks the Health & Safety people would say you should not have laces while riding? Have you ever had them loop around a lever or some such then have the ensuing moment of panic as you pull up but can't put your foot down? An interesting review 👍

Ah anything made to measure is always going to be extremely solid :) Haha now that's saying something as those are mostly bulletproof bikes! Ah that's a pity, does mould really eat leather there? I suppose it's warm and damp all the time....nevermind! My boots I se for the track get eaten up very quickly, I have a set of RST tractech 3s at the minute and they're lasting ok, wearing the balls of the feet out off the pegs pretty quick tho. I have laces on loads of boots I wear on bikes, once you're sensible about it and don't leave huge loops it's grand. Plus these do have the right length laces and are mid rise or whatever, so you have them clear of controls unless your controls are mad weird. I've had that happen on normal shoes, not fun :D Thanks :)

Awesome work man. The Phoenix collection is super amazing by IR. I have their Crow 2s and Comanche 3s and they just get better and better with time. Fan of their gloves as well. My favorite from them happens to be their cheapest pair which is the moto gloves. For me, they are just about perfect and I ride with them down to the 50sF.

Thanks bud. All the boots I've seen from them I've liked the look of tbh! Haven't seen a design I wasn't like "that looks nice". Those do look nice, but I have gloves of that style already so I don't think I'll be replacing them for a while or I'd give them a go :) 50 is like 10 right? Yeah they're perfectly good for that. I'd be happy as far as about 42 in the mornings otherwise I wear a warmer glove :)

Well GB the boots look ok as casuals but fer me laces just don´t do it , but then the only footwear I have laces on are trainers and I hardly ever wear them .😁 . I´m going fer Knox this year but you already use them I am hoping to get some Gerbing´s heated later in the year but that could change when I get into sports bike shop .My only riding boots are the RST short boot and I like that just fine (no laces) 😁. I also want to find a good pair of protective jeans but not sure yet on the make their are a lot out there .Cheers interesting as always 👍

Haha I actually like laces cus I have super narrow feet so I need to get them tightened up right! Yes indeed I do also love my knoxes, great gloves. I like the look of the gerbings, but it's never gotten cold enough for me to need more than my heated grips. That's fair, no laces is the best if you don't need them :) I haven't yet found a pair I'd be happy to recommend, if I do find a set I'll let you know :) Thanks Malcolm!

I would never buy these boot for motorcycle boots. 1. Never wear motorcycle boots while riding that have shoe laces. I wouldn’t wear them even if someone gave them to me. 2. They’re flat soles. You should be aware of slip resistant using vulcanized rubber soles. Are they?

That's fair enough, don't think anyone is going to force you! I wear laces all the time. I use my bike as a practical thing that I can pop in to town on as well, it's not just a weekend toy for me and carrying spare shoes isn't possible. But each to their own! No idea what they're made from but they are slip resistant from experience. Very good to walk around in. Very aggressive comment fyi 😂

I really fancied a pair of the gloves. Unfortunately the exchange rate is such that they're £63 and then shipping on top. Still really like them though :)

Ah that's a pity, euro to dollar is nearly 1:1 now too so it's not so great, that said I usually spend upwards of 80 on gloves so for me it's still excellent value for the quality :) I like them more after using them in Tampa, really impressed with them

How did you find the sizing? Was it true to what you expected? Did you get a size up from your "normal" size? Did I miss that in the review, because if I did call me an idjit and tell me to watch it again.

Actually don't know did I mention it, the boots were my normal size so absolutely bang on there, for the gloves I used the online size chart measurements and I was kinda between sizes. Once the gloves stretched a bit they've been extremely comfy.

I did not like mine at all. Busted at the seems less than 2 months. Very slippery. Would not recommend at all.

@TheGorillaBiker the boots. I've used several brands. Typically, when they can't get the tread right, they don't get the rest of the boot right. To me, these are 50$ boots. I'm very surprised that yours haven't Busted open. I ended up trashing them bc the seems just continued to come apart. They looked cool new though!

I've used alpinestars for a few sets of boots and they wore much faster tbh, might have just been your pair. My crow boots have about 10,000 miles on them now with many days walking around on them too. Ah it's a pity you threw them out, it would have been good to see photos where we could talk to the company on. I actually prefer how they look worn now tbh! :)

Are the soles stitched to the upper? If they’re just “welded.” They’re going to come right off in a tumble.

As far as I know there's no stitching. I will say I'm entirely unwilling to test that on purpose myself cus I like being somewhat functional. That said, I've seen plenty of post accident photos from people with these boots as they send them to me after finding the videos, and I've never seen the soles separated.

Comfy, look good and functional all in the same boot! Yeah, I want a tight boot that protects my ankle. The gloves look spectacular! I also prefer the short cuff. OC: I love my new Alpine stars SBX air carbon v2 gloves. I don't have favorite casual boots, I have a set of tour masters that I wear if I'm going for a long ride but not my fav gonna try something different.

Yes indeed :) Honestly I think these would suit you well, can walk in them for a very good distance too without getting sore!! The gloves are really nice, just used them in Tampa for a day too and they were perfect. I like my Alpinestars WEB Goretex boots, I wore them back from Germany and have been meaning to review them as well!!

@@TheGorillaBiker I'm gonna look up those WEB Goretex boots. I wore my SBX gloves out to FL they weren't to sweaty or hot but they were a bit harder to get on and off in the humidity. I will do a review on them soon I think I have enough miles on them now :-). I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the Alpinestars boots as well.
