I will never fully understand how people can listen to music like this and not see the complete beauty in not only the words but the beat of the music and the emotion behind the voice. Maybe too many people are used to rap and pop, but music has always been an emotion for me. I'm not sad or depressed which is usually people's first reaction when they see I listen to music like this, which I understandable, but I'm neither of those things. Music is purely art and when I listen to these songs I'm at genuine peace. It's like being transported to a new world. Your mindset is altered and feel something greater than yourself. It envelops your entire soul with pure emotion. You have an understanding for not only others but yourself and that's so beautiful. Music like this is so vastly underrated, but I'm absolutely in love.

For nine years I was bedridden with a chronic illness. I couldn’t go to school or leave the house or enjoy my life. This song is very resonate. “Patience is all I have” you just have to wait and hope and pray things will be better because it’s all you have. You’d literally give your soul for a new body or a chance.

I love this type of music, I introduced this to some of my friends actually..and they asked if I was depressed. I get the same question over and over again, but it's okay. I will forever love Indie music even if people ask me questions that are to personal and agitating. I know they're just caring for me but just asking me questions like that when I'm just showing my type of music may say something about my character :)

Ella thegamer10 I KNOW RIGHT. I showed this to my parents, and they were all worried about me being depressed. I don't know what it is, but people seem to not understand the beauty of "sad" music. It's just so full of emotion and feelings.

I think we all seem to get that same question from worried friends/family of whether or not we're all possibly mentally depressed or in some way are just not feeling perfect about ourselves, but the intention of being concerned for our safety and happiness is always still a nice feeling to get from them because they care enough to ask. To me, this music is something I love to relax to and calmly reflect on myself because it speaks to me on many levels that I sometimes choose not to pay attention to while I lay down and nap away. Besides, mellow music is too perfect to ignore.

In my body I have a master I bow down when she comes around In my body I’m a disaster I break down when you shake the ground Every time I stand to leave my cage In my broken body I stay I want to love like a man I’ll build you a home when I can Give my new body a chance Patient now it’s all that I have I fought the world for your hand I fought the world for your hand Give my new body a chance Give my new body a chance It’s all I have In my body I fight fire With the snow, my hell is cold In my body I have a soft light Burning low, but too hot to hold I’ve become the only thing I hate Leave this broken body today I want to love like a man I’ll build you a home when I can Give my new body a chance Patient now it’s all that I have I fought the world for your hand I fought the world for your hand Give my new body a chance Give my new body a chance It’s all I have I was hearing words in black and white Twisted up inside my broken mind Outstretched dirty hands just like a child Hungry little fool, but you were mine You’re all I have You’re all I have Give my new body a chance Give my new body a chance

To me, this song can be interpreted in so many different ways. I for one, when I first heard it, thought it was about one's body image and their sense of self-worth in relation to their appearance. Like the first line when it says "in my body, I have a master, I bow down" can mean the person's body is not owned by themselves but instead their beliefs and thoughts own their body that makes them believe they need to look a certain way. When it says "I've become the only thing I hate, leave this broken body today" can sound like as if it is directing a negative depiction of their self-image, to the point that it is referring to their body as 'broken'. When the song mentions "hungry little fool but you were mine, you're all I have", it can be interpreted that the 'hungry little fool' refers to themselves i.e. their body, in which they've been skipping meals and trying to keep in shape, and 'you're all I have' makes it sound as if their entire focus and entire life is about their appearance, their self-image and how they look. ....idk just a long-ass analysis I somehow came up with lol

If you think about it, too, a person's body is the only thing they TRULY own and need to survive. No matter how broken, neglected, or rejected a person feels in their body, they have absolutely nothing without it.
@brianabuzzell12262 жыл бұрын
The lyrics seem so transparent. He's talking about accepting his brokeness and acknowledging his desperate need for God in his life, but acknowledges the struggle we all have: living for ourselves in these bodies and living for God, in the new "temple" he gives us when we let his Spirit in. In my body I have a master (Holy Spirit, God's voice in us, directing our steps if we allow Him to) I bow down when she comes around (bowing down to God's presence and holiness, referred to in the feminine) In my body I'm a disaster (our sin reeks havoc) I break down when you shake the ground (referring to God's power) Every time I stand to leave my cage (prison of sin, the dominion it has over our lives) In my broken body I stay (staying in a cycle of self-sabotage) I want to love like a man (they way God made man to love, to have a true relationship knowing his Creator) I'll build you a home when I can (building His body into a pure temple for God's Spirit to dwell) Give my new body a chance (his pure new temple) Patient now it's all that I have (it takes time, and is ultimately the only option) I fought the world for your hand (the world will be against you when you strive to live in accordance with God, many obstacles to overcome) I fought the world for your hand Give my new body a chance Give my new body a chance It's all I have (being right with God is the only option at true fulfillment) In my body I fight fire (fighting the will of God, the fire of the Holy Spirit) With the snow, my hell is cold (an apathetic Hell within us, without the love of God) In my body I have a soft light (presence of the Holy Spirit) Burning low, but too hot to hold (we feel it, cannot control it) I've become the only thing I hate (without God we despise ourselves) Leave this broken body today (a want to leave our brokeness, our flesh, and be transformed by the renewal of our minds, knowing God) I want to love like a man I'll build you a home when I can Give my new body a chance Patient now it's all that I have I fought the world for your hand I fought the world for your hand Give my new body a chance Oh, give my new body a chance I was hearing words in black and white (God's truth is clear and objective. It's straightforward.) Twisted up inside my broken mind (not having a relationship with God dements our thinking) Outstretched dirty hands just like a child ("dirty" referring to a life of sin and mistakes, having "child-like faith" reaching up to God) Hungry little fool, but you were mine (he was insatiable, inconsequential, and ignorant, but by the grace of God, he lets us have a relationship with Him) You're all I have (we will always have God with us, even if everyone else is gone) You're all I have. God came down to Earth to prove who He is, and to have a relationship with us! It's a hard battle to surrender your pride but it's worth it. God has better plans and standards for us then we could possibly imagine!!

Also Rap, Rock Techno… But Everytime i listen to my softer Playlist i feel so much more understood. It completes my life in many ways. It gives you space and time to think, be sad, be happy or just to think about absolutely nothing while appreciating time and life. Even though my music library is filled with lots of stuff, I consider this to be the best part of it. It is much more special to me than anything else and I’m always curious of what to discover next.

I think he is indeed suffering from some kind of illness as you've said "in my body i have a master" but i think that hes begging the person whom he loves to stay with him as he tried so hard to get her "i fought the world for your hand" and currently he is not in a stable state, he wants to love again but hes just not able to "i want to love like a man" and he is promising her a home when he gets well "ill build you a home when i can" which represents their unity and peace
@mr.meeseeks51275 жыл бұрын
He's speaking from a soldiers point of view. He was a soldier who fought a war and his body was mangled from it. He's begging the person he loved before the war, the person he went to war for, to love him like they did before. It's pretty evident.

That "in my body" touches my mind like idk how do i explain this. It's a different feeling, unexplainable, only be felt. Like I'm in an old fort, a different world. Filled with everything i love, filled with my emotions that i never felt but also felt or i guess i crave to feel. Rose fragrance, flowing in the wind, fragrance of all flowers, in a place surrounded by old papers, books. Lit by candles. Feel like I'm seperating from my body, or dying. It's unexplainable

I haven't even dared to watch the scene that has been released but I read what song was used as a soundtrack so I came here to listen to it. And I am in tears by the song alone. It is a great parallel to the other sylm song that was used back in season 2 when Magnus was accounting what he was afraid of. and now we see the roles are reversed and that Alec is actually the one who is afraid to lose something very dear to him. And come on the lyrics of this song? I can't even begin to prepare myself for the scene that we are about to watch... #malec #shadowhunters #316 #saveshadowhunters

After my dad passed my husband and I fought consistently, we had a really hard rough patch. I changed I became really cold really mean. It was challenging, but we pulled through, it's still hard around his time he passed. I relate this song to that everything we went through my changes him growing with those changes as a man, him being all that I have. One of the most difficult times I've ever had to deal with was the loss of my dad. I thank my husband for staying with me through that and not leaving me when he could have and not dealt with the stuff that he did. 🖤

This song makes me feel like a man who originally felt very lost and scared and weak. But couldn't show it is finally able to show who he is. In saying give my new body a chance he's saying give my open self a chance. When he says I've become the thing I hate. I think it means something like he had been making fun of other "weak" men around him. But really he resented them because they were open. And finally he's opening up to the woman he loves. But he's scared if he can do this. His voice is soft but has a slight strength to it. And now that he's open about who he is. He's saying she is all he has. Idk if that's what it's about. But that's what I think about.

I have only recently discovered SYML and i really find his music incredibly inspirational. Since I started listening to Amber Run, Aquilo and even Flora Cash, i found myself really drawn to this kind of music now. Yeah, people ask if I am depressed because they find this kind of music depressing. But it speaks to me, the way grunge did when i was younger.

If you think human love is powerful wait till you experience the love of our creator because once you do that he opens your mind and your heart to a bigger love that you've never imagined and in return you love your partner more. He doesn't want none of us to hurt .
