Finally a respected and well deserved tribute to Michael "Boogaloo Shrimp/Turbo" Chambers! He's like me, never change no matter what! I which there was more to this documentary like when Turbo and Ozone would fly to New York and teach the B-Boys how to Pop n' Lock and in return they would teach them how to Breakdance new moves and would come back home to LA and teach everyone else what they learned from the New York dancers! AMAZING!!!

Michael Boogaloo Shrimp Chambers was my legend and I have studied and tried to copy his moves since I was a kid and saw Breakin 1&2, I am now 51 and still poppin, I will never get tired of watching and listening to this special person. Excellent documentary with great stories I hadn't heard before. I saw Jeffrey Daniels last year in England and they tried to attribute the moonwalk to him there. He is a good dancer but has nothing on Boogaloo Shrimp the master of animation. Love to you Michael ❤

Michael Chambers may remember this but when my mom was pregnant with me, she was in l.a. while they were filming Breakin. She met him and ozone. Michael rubbed my moms tummy when she was pregnant with me. So in a way, he was the first celebrity I met.

I know all y’all didn’t think MJ learned the back slide, moon walk all by himself. Growing up in the 80’s during that “Break Dancing error” no one did it better than Michael Chambers aka boogaloo shrimp. Thanks Michael Chambers for clarifying where MJ got the “Moonwalk “ from. You younger generation will never know how much fun it was growing up in the 80’s.

I was born is a small city in Northen England totally far removed from New York but still a poor working class place and I cannot explain how much that scene gripped us , even in school we had a teacher that loved the movie and we would have the TV rolled in and watch it in class even...Then a bit later as a graff writer travelling about I see that hundreds of thousands of kids had that same experience across the UK...Then you realise this was a global moment for kids.Damn right it should have a documentary !

True. And Breakin 2 almost didn't have Shabba Doo. He was going to be replaced because Golan/Globus didn't want to up his pay. They were cheap as hell. Notice Popping Pete and Pop N Taco aren't in Breakin 2? Also, the media had oversaturated the world with (a lot of really bad) breaking and the fad was dying by the time Breakin 2 was released. They had exploited the art form - which still thrives and grows mainly underground. But, this summer the OLYMPICS may revive the fad in the U.S. But there's a serious underground and international breaking community that still goes strong. It's just that little Biff in the mall doesn't know about it.

I really enjoyed watching the documentary. Especially the part where he talks about MJ !I never knew he worked with him and taught him the moonwalk (backslide).Everytime you hear another story who taught Michael Jackson the moonwalk.I always admired Boogaloo Shrimp/Turbo.He had an unique style.Recently I watched the movie Breaki n again ,after I saw it first in 1984.I was 14 back then and loved the movie especially the broom scene.The way they combined breakdancing with ballet and jazz was just amazing!It's nice to know that even when he became famous at such a young age and met all these amazing celebrities , he stayed true to him self.I really love that!!👏👏Keep on dancin brother❤

To me Shrimp was the best all around breaker I seen. He could do it all. Wave, poplock, floorwork, knee spin, back spin, uprock, flair. Now there are others who could break and wave better than him but the ones who could , couldnt do both. Like Poppin Taco's wave was crazy! but he couldnt go to the floor. As great as Crazy Legs was, he never waved or popped. There was no one who could do both effectively.

What a guy, fantastic life story! I'm 49 and also lived the whole early hip-hop days with intensity (in Europe). Imagine going down in History as the man who taught Michael Jackson his most recognizable move! Wow. No disrespect but Jeffrey Daniels does a great moonwalk/backslide and I saw him do it at a concert. There is a KZbin video that his ex-wife claims she saw Jeffrey Daniels teaching the moonwalk to Michael Jackson kzbin.info/www/bejne/rqm4eqiXjcergLs. In my opinion Boogaloo does the moonwalk better and Michael Jackson's moonwalk looks more like Boogaloo's. His moves are flawless. The jaw-dropping broom dance is ICONIC.
