Gracefully said young man. I really loved and respected your father. I'm also from the Chi!!! I love the dedication ceremony Chicago had for him. This is just a little of what he really stood for. He truly was a trendsetter. I'm much younger born in the sixties....I've never met your Father but his spirit resignates with in. I have him on my playlist. 😂 Shabba Doo!!!! My son is also of a mix race. I love Jesus and one day when the rapture comes. I will see him dancing again. From a Chicagoan now living in the South Suburbs. ❤❤❤ You are his legacy. 😊😊😊

He said he was a cool dude. Had no idea he was raised a Jehovah's Witness. I read how he became a Jehovah's Witness later in life before he died!! And damn he tapped Toni Basil? Back in 1971 when Soul Train came to DC my sister's and I were hooked. I had never seen pop lockin'. My father who was in the Air Force at the time had remarried my step mother in California and got stationed at Andrews Air Force in 1972. I first met my step brother that year when they came to my mother's house and he was doing the pop lockin' dance. Little did I know that 50 years later Shabba Doo would be icon of that dance style. Those were great times.

Do you remember when he and the other 2 Characters from Breakin came to Baltimore for a personal appearance? I believe it was at the Reisterstown Rd Plaza or either at Security Square Mall, can't remember which location, They came to promote the movie and was traveling everywhere, I didn't attend that day but my youngest sister and some of her friends did, she said that she was standing right up front and she got some absolutely awesome photos, picture perfect, they ( the 3 cast members) did some dance routines and was wonderfully deeply appreciated by the huge crowd, extending their appreciation to their devoted fans and signing autographs, everyone had a great time, but yeah this was back in the 80's and she still have those very treasured extra special photos and she shared them with me so yes I have them too❤️🤗👍

Don "Campbellock" Campbell originated the dance Locking, and Shabba Doo followed other dancers that was on Soul Train to band together to form THE LOCKERS DANCE GROUP.. PLEASE DO NOT FORGET DON AND HIS LEGACY.. AS NO ONE CAN FORGET SHABBA DOO, DON SEEMS TO GET PUSHED TO THE BACK . RIP DON CAMPBEII, SHABBA "ADOLFO QUINONES" DOO, FRED BERRY, GREG POPE. I have to say each LOCKER had their own locking style and skills , but Shabba Doo brought it to a larger professional level by bringing it to larger crowds, the movie screens. He exposed so many to Street Dance, and made other want to learn the Dances. Him and several of the Original Lockers started teaching these styles passing this knowledge on to other generations of Dancers. TONY GOGO WENT ON TO JAPAN IN 1985 AND STARTED LOCKING, AND STREET DANCE FUSION SCHOOLS. MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT TO THE REMAINING LOCKERS TONI BASIL, BILL "SLIM THE ROBOT" WILLIAMS, LEO "FLUKY LUKE" WILLIAMSON, ANTHONY "TONY GOGO" FOSTER. And others who stepped into fill out the group when needed. We will miss Sabba Doo , I had always hoped he would have made another movie like he referred to having written a script for. It was suppose to carry on from the second movie. But he said his vision saw the lead character being a woman. The World of Street Dance will miss a Great Teacher, and Locking Legacy.

MANNNNN. I LOVED this movie. TFS. You know Taco just passed away. Taco was Poppin Pete's dance partner in Breakin. He was also in Micheal Jackson's video Smooth Criminal. Shabba Doo dancing was legendary. Toni Basil from the lockers get a lot of credit for her dancing, but NEVER mentions that she started in the group.🤔😒

It's a shame Toni Basil at her mid 70's still not given the recognition she RIGHTLY deserves!!

White people often steal the credit, without giving proper due to the black folks who taught them/brought them into the loop.

@@sandrasanders706 why should this white woman get credit for misappropriating black dance moves....as always they get the recognition.

Lionel Ritchie had him and Turbo went on Tour in the 80s. I was 13 in 1984. I absolutely loved him. I have both movies, on VHS 📼 . Hugs Ice -T. Beautiful and informative documentary on him and the rest. Forever based Chicago " the lockers"..
