Tea Creek’s mission is to revitalize the culture of economic interdependence and food production that was a central part of life for Indigenous peoples throughout the Americas. In this interview, Cultural Mentor George Sampare shares his passion for community and creating a safe space for others to learn, heal, and build practical skills.
Tea Creek is an award-winning, Indigenous-owned and Indigenous-led farming initiative operating in Gitxsan Territory, near Gitwangak and Gitanyowin British Columbia, Canada. Last year, they hosted more than 1,200 unique Indigenous guests and served over 7,000 hot meals.
