Compost making is such a joyful thing to do, on so many levels. On my little allotment i have 4 compost bins, so most of the material gets turned 3 times, with added fresh comfrey, nettle, grass etc, or horse manure, according to what the season offers. In late autumn the oldest heap gets spread around the beds, and bin 2 goes in bin 4, with bin 3 on top (they will have 'sunk' by then). On the oldest heap i also grow green manures, to get the rhizophagy cycle going. And yeah, voles keep the heaps warm and aerated 😂 Thank you both for this lovely and informative talk! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 🌳🕊💚

Awesome "tips and tricks" video wirhout any actual tips or tricks. Thats one of the biggest problems i have with Dr Ingham, so many videos of her where she goes "yeah i could get into that, but its really complicated, but hey we do teach it if you sign up for our course!" Basically, "pay me or gtfo". Theres a lot better teachers on YT, and they dont expect your money to teach you how nature operates.

33:10 Buying bacteria from different parts of the world, ie non native colonies and different populations, I fear we’re setting ourselves up for a different kind of environmental disaster. Composting locally and promoting the microbes already present in your immediate environment is (likely?) how we’ll maintain the planets cyclical functioning.

I wish I knew the King Stropharia would grow on straw. I had a good patch growing, the ran out of wood chips. And it disappeared. I'm mulching with straw everywhere now...guess I'll order some new spawn this spring.

@@HeartandSoil So much here💕… One of the points Stewart made is to have a “control area” where “no Preps” are used, so there’s a comparison. He also mentioned it again when answering questions; to leave a plant untreated to know for certain BioDynamic treatment is the reason why plant recovers. Side by side comparison removes all doubt. Look forward to y’all talking again.

Idk why touching cow patties, aka dried splats of cow manure, is wierd when alot of us grew up reading stories of pioneers collecting them to burn in their woodstoves. Also, Native Americans that traveled & lived on the prairies would collect bison patties for the same reason. Supposed to be odorless burns, which makes sense if you are talking about grassfed cattle. I haven't had an opportunity to try it, but I do believe first-hand accounts of people living on the prairies.
