Beautiful bird and it's songs. Many people don't realize that Crows are also song birds. So next time you hear the annoying CAW early in the morning or just before the sun sets remember they are just singing baritone and appreciate how beautiful it is! Great video to discover 9 years later!

That's true about the crows. Lots of people think that the term songbird applies to birds with pretty songs, but all those blackbirds are songbirds too, and as a matter of fact, some of them--Baltimore Orioles, Meadowlarks -have gorgeous songs.

I remember decades ago going on a day trip with birders. I knew next to nothing about birds at the time, but I did know what Indigo Buntings were and was dismayed that the driver of the car I was in sped right past them on utility lines. I wanted to see those beautiful birds. But they were too common to interest the real birders.

I am guessing you live in a fairly rural area. We get lots of birds in our yard but not the indigo. Our property is just too suburban. Well enjoy him because you're right, Laura, he is a beauty. Health problems abound for me these days--NOT the kind of bounty I want! But I am a determined cuss, and I've overcome my share of other health issues. I'll do it again, just might take some time.

I really can't tell, especially with the inference of my voice. But I do remember that I saw Orchard Orioles when I was filming this.
