Nomads in general are tall(er) due to diet. Most nomads diet consists of dairy (proteins), nuts (also protein), sorghum and millet. Meat is eaten but on very rare occasion. Nothing to do with Wodaabe Fulani mixing...Fulani in all countries are taller than most other ethnic groups.

They’re what happens when Taureg Berbers mix with wandering black tribes in the Sahel. That’s literally why they exist actually. Their language is proof of this since it’s not an Afro Asiatic one and their genetic makeup shows this(maternally they are west african asf)

Aww I love the ending... they're some beautiful people. Their hair, skin teeth (height of the men) of the ppl...if I could visit any region of the motherland it would be this tribe 1st ;) I want to address the remarks of the men "looking gay"..these men are meant to be beautiful as they are! I'm a woman, I think the men are attractive. Gay doesn't have a look. Stop picking stereotypes to play with it's like choosing the lesser evil-you're still choosing evil!

It's interesting how different their features are to for example typical West Africans. They are so tall, have sharp noses and very slim. Not to mention their attire and their culture and language. It just shows you how diverse the African continent is. It's easy to overlook when you live in Europe. I had never even heard of Wodabe (forgive the spelling) before today.

Senegalese Fulani (from the north) here I understood them very fine. It is crazy how our pulaar is so similar. our pulaar is like British English vs American English. however when it comes to Guinean Fulani wow I only catch 2/3 of what they are saying. It is more like Scottish and American lol.

@GoldInSin in different Fulani groups there are different customs. From the Bodaddo (Wodabe plural) to Geloji, Maasina, Fouta, Jalingo people all the different Fulani ethnic groups have slightly different customs. But make no mistake we are one and the same, Fulfulde duna gootum.

you are talking about particular ethnic groups in Somalia and Uganda that may be short due to region and diet. In the Sahel of West Africa, Fulani (my group) are amongst the tallest. Many people are over 6 feet (185 cm) tall. Also the tallest people in the world are African (Tutsis) but the shortest people in the world are also African (Pygmies)

@pidza21 Also as Fulani we are not in East Africa. The Farthest we are is in Chad/Sudan/Central African republic. We are mainly located in West Africa.

@pidza21 that is because Wodaabe are Fulani and speak the Fulani language (Fulfulde), there are different types of slavic people and they do not speak the same language. Example: Russians, Polish and Serbians are all Slavic but do not speak the same language. We Fulani are West African if you wanted to come up for a similar term to Slavic, then we are Sudanic like Wolof, Yoruba, Hausa, Zarma, Songhai, etc.

@aussie2topaz They speak the same dialect as in Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad, Central African republic. Adamawa dialect for the most part, one thing to note is that Gombe and Adamawa while the ahve similar dialects they are still kind of different. For example in Fulfulde/Pular in the Adamawa dialect "see" would be said as laaru, in Gombe and other Fulani speaking areas it would be "ndaaru"

Sure there are short people in every ethnic group, but let me tell you another thing, there is no such thing as Hausa Fulani, you are either Hausa or Fulani. Tell those "Hausa Fulani" I said so. Also, on average Fulani are one of the tallest ethnic groups in West Africa. on Average I say, yes there are exceptions of shorter Fulani (Baaba Maal is an example). But on Average we are the taller ones
