@@jt7891 PS: You've been commenting all over this video in support of Ghandi. It doesn't seem like you'll change your mind. Since you're gonna use the whataboutism argurment, you conveniently forget that she ordered the attack one of the most holy days in the Sikh religion, knowing that many more Sikhs would be in the temple. You also forget the cruelty with which Sikh men were burned alive with car tires placed around their necks by hindu men. Sikh children were forced to cut their hair to avoid being attacked by hindus. And for what, for killing 1 woman, the woman who purposfully tried killing as many Sikhs as possible, hindus decided to follow in the woman's footsteps. Even now there are militant hindu groups who are willing to kill those muslims who kill cows for farming, all because someone thousands of years ago (or possibly someone who never even existed) decided that a cow of all animals is holy The plane attack is a stain on SIkhs, but a stain barely noticeable when compared to the seas of blood hindus/muslims/Christians have shed in the name of their respective religions

J T Sorry dude but when she was elected she promised Sikh’s representation just as she promised her own religious group Hindus. She in essence kept on fobbing them off and pandered to her own people. Now correct me if I am wrong, Sikhs were always her bodyguards and don’t you think if someone killed your people ( men women and children)on the most holiest of sites on their holiest days that you would feel murderous? Personally to hire people that you have grievously injured to protect you from harm sounds truly imbecilic!

Mr. Whistler, Thanks for your most interesting and educative series of video biographies. May I point out a couple of factual errors in this video on Mrs Indira Gandhi? 1. The party which defeated her in the 1977 elections was the Janata Party and not the Janata Dal. The Janata Party disintegrated after Indira Gandhi rode back to power in 1980. 2. Rajiv Gandhi stayed in power only for 5 years from 1984 to 1989 and not 7 years as mentioned in your video. In his case, he was defeated in the 1989 elections by, this time, the Janata Dal, which was a different party from the erstwhile Janata Party of the 70s. When Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated in 1991, he was in the Opposition. Thanks, again, for a most interesting series of videos

Some point you missed Firoz surname was not Gandhi, Gandhi adopted him so Nehru's image wouldn't take a hit. His party people killed many sikhs in riot that broke out after her assassination. USA sent their ships to Indian ocean to attack India and had to go back because Indira asked USSR for help and they surfaced their recon submarine so USA can see their presence in the region and their support to India. That was another time we got very close to World war 3, why its always the Russian submarine and US fleet lol. Maharajas dint have power, but they had influence, they got pension and on that influence they won the Elections in many places against her and that became quite threatening to her as this could become reality around India very soon so during emergency she took mist of their land and pensions away and looted their palace, she literally robbed them in day light. Also the other Prime minister you mentioned Lal Bahadur Shahri died in Tashkent, former USSR just after signing the peace agreement and his death is also a very big cover up and another Dark part of Indian Democracy.

Indira Gandhi was the Iron lady of India and was called "Durga" (the goddess of Strength) by the opposition leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee. She not only brought the Green Revolution in India making India absolutely self reliant in terms of agriculture products and food grains ..she also lead India to an absolutely stunning vistory in the Indo-Pak war dividing Pak into two pieces and snatching their one half and transforming it into Bangladesh giving India a safe neighborhood forever. Many ppl especially Modi BHAKTS try to tarnish her image but the truth is Indians loved her immensely and that is why even after emergency she was reflected in 1980 and after her death ppl voted for her son to become the PM of the country giving him the biggest mandate (444 seats out of 545) till date.
