Broer van mijn oma gebruikt om een koloniale leger soldaat die naar Nederland verhuisd zijn. Mijn grootmoeder overleed in 1998, tot de dood van zijn grootmoeder nog graag vertellen over zijn broer, haar zo veel miste hij. hoewel tot nu toe zonder nieuws, we nakomelingen nog steeds geloven en altijd bidden voor u, die onze oma gemist, hun kroost moge Allah swt altijd op zijn hoede

Most of the people being interviewed are Indo's: part native from the Dutch Indies, part European Dutch. These people had to flee from the newly founded republic of Indonesia because they were considered too Dutch. Some of them were slain by Indonesian freedom fighters. So, a lot of them fled to the Netherlands.

@@jaronimo1976 Sorry but from an Indonesian perspective, one cannot flee a county that was unrightfully stolen/occupied. And "slain" is an interesting choice of word, considering hundreds of thousands of Indonesians (or what you people often call indigenous people) were murdered under the Dutch-Indisch occupation. Why is this centrum only focused on the tragic events that happened around the 2nd world war? How very self-centered to only focus on the 3 years of Japanese oppression when you enslaved and exploited us for three centuries. I sure hope you made a memorial centrum for that part of your history...
