Greece has a variety of folk music as its region has its distinctive sounds and music !! Ipirotika Makedonitika Thrakiotika Roumeliotika Nisiotika Kritika Pontiaka etc !! This is due to the fact that Greece' s mainland is mountainous and the communicaton between two regions and the exchange of music was difficult !! Plus the fact that neighboring people influenced the greek music as well !! Such as Slavic music, Italian music, Turkish, Iranian and Byzantine music !!!

@@kristian900 In all Greek sites for foustanella say that was Albanian and adopted by the Greeks as well so not stolen but adopted !!! As far the music Ipirotica have been influenced by Albanian and vice versa !! Neighboring regions influence each other music, habits, way of dressing, way of building their houses, etc !!! You must understand that 100 years ago one village was inhabited by Greeks the next by Albanians and the other by Slavs and in the cities also Turks and Jews and most of them were spoke 2 or even 3 languages !! So it was a mixtutre of people infuencing each other culture !!!
