Excellent run down of the safety switches and how to test them, great job. Danny Boy 73 just puts a bolt through the mulch Cover, close to the safety switch and bolts the mulch cover directly to the frame of the machine. Your idea to heat up and plastically deform.The mulch cover at the safety switch is another good idea. Thanks again for the video. 👍👍👍

There are way too many electric safety features on this little mower that will interrupt the starting current if they're all not working. I'm not recommending this for anyone, but I disabled all of them except the ignition key. Since I'm the only one who uses this mower and am way too familiar with it, it makes an unpleasant task a little simpler. Thanks for a great video!

Great vid! I have a 2017 TB30, and maybe my story could help someone else as well... On my 2017, the brake-engage switch is up inside the frame on the right side. A mere 3-inches from the chute/plug switch. (I had no idea it was there..) When I removed my deck last fall, I forgot to unplug the chute switch, and it was tugging on the wires. When I realized that, I unplugged it and went about my business. When I reinstalled the deck, the mower would not start. I immediately checked the chute switch, and all other ones.(Numerous times!) All were fine. After going crazy and pulling the solenoid to bench test, I checked the wiring diagram online. I saw the 4th switch in the diagram, but had to search for it on the mower. When I found the damn thing, I discovered that by tugging at the wiring for the chute switch, it had pulled the brake switch out of alignment. (It has one mounting point, and can pivot.) I pushed it back into alignment, and BAM! I went through hell for 3 days with that little debacle. Here's hoping this will save someone else!! Lol

Thank you this is good information. I have a 30 in just like this my issue is it starts but stalls after 10 minutes. Any idea to what this could be?
@IndRepair3 ай бұрын
I would remove the fuel tank cap when it happens, could be the vent. If removing the cap helps, this is what is happening. If not likely a restriction in the line/filter or carburetor

When I change speeds on my TB 30 it takes a couple minutes before it reaches full speed. I have replaced two of the three belts but still have an issue. Any thoughts?

The double variable pulley is the likely cause if both drive belts have been replaced

I have the same tractor starts fine but when I engage the blades the blades start and then the tractor turns off you have any idea what it could be.
@IndRepair2 ай бұрын
I would see if you can keep it running if you choke it some. If so likely a carburetor issue. Also check the deck to make sure everything spins freely and there is nothing in the way of the blade. If you take the belt off at the engine oulkey it is rather easy to do this

@IndRepair4 ай бұрын
What height are you trying to engage it on now? Lower the deck height then engage the blade and see if it works. I see the idler arm get jammed between the deck and frame often and will cause this issue. Otherwise, what is it doing when you engage the blades? Any noise or anything at all? Does it feel like there is tension?

Cant find the BRAKE interlock switch...where is it?

On many of these is is on the right side (as you are sitting on the mower) almost to the rear. If you look directly above the safety switch on the deck you will find the location attached to the frame just in front of / almost under the engine

I'm having an issue with this mower. Ran and cut fine. Shut down in the middle of cutting. Found a blown fuse. Replaced fuse and will blow fuse as soon as key is turned before the starter can even engage. Replaced ignition switch but no change. I'm guessing some type of short but no clearly visible exposed wires. Any suggestions ?
@IndRepair7 ай бұрын
Disconnect one thing, safety or switch at a time and see when it stops blowing. Start by disconnecting the starter since it only happens when key is to "start" position correct?
@motorsportsGEO7 ай бұрын
@@IndRepair ok thanks, I'll check the safety switches. And I'll disconnect the starter. I jumped the starter by connecting the two solenoid posts and the starter cranks.

On my 2012 TB30, I can not find a park interlock switch. I had no problem finding the other PTO, deck and seat switch. I see no wires going to the steering column base area even after removing both plastic bases. So, is it possible that there is no park interlock on my 2012 model TB30?
@IndRepair8 ай бұрын
It looks like it is in the back underneath on what would be the right side if looking at the mower from behind. Have someone move the brake and see what is moving in back, there will be an interlock switch there somewhere
