I just had my son. He came naturally on his due date. My labored stalled for two hours at 6 cm and I was trying to labor naturally. When it was time to break my water to move labor along, I was able to make an informed decision to take the epidural after watching many of your videos. After receiving the epidural my body did what it needed to do and I dilated to a 9. After that, my waters were bulging so they did go ahead and break them. The epidural was the right choice for me and I had an extremely speedy recovery!

I had a very similar story with my second. Surprise! No epidural. The midwife very calmly told me, your body was MADE for this! Her belief calmed me and I recalled the birth stories I’d heard. My husband got on the bed behind me and supported me that way. I caught my daughter in my own hands. It was the most incredible experience and I went on to have 2 more planned unmedicated births!

Thank you very much! You give me hope. I'm expecting VBAC with gestational diabetes and am so afraid of inducing, but you give me hope :)

I was induced at 39 weeks. My water broke at home at 3am. I waited till 5am and did not have any contractions. I went to the hospital without my midwifes. Bc the hospital I was suppose to give birth was full. So the doctor said I had two options. Wait 12 hours for labor to start naturally. Or get induced. So I got induced. Contractions started at 7 and started pushing around 1030ish. And gave birth to my daughter at 1109. It was an amazing experience without my midwifes

What an awesome story! I just had my baby boy July 17th and I wanted so badly to be able to do it without pain relievers but in the end I decided I would get the epidural. It was amazing though. I wouldn't change anything about my birth. I hate that Covid took away the ability to have my mom with me but my husband was amazing and so supportive and I had 2 of the most amazing L&D nurses who made me feel much better and helped me feel confident about the decision I was making. My OBGYN was also great. I'm so thankful I have my precious boy here finally. He was just barely 37 weeks gestation and my water randomly broke after we put our foster kids to bed. My husband and I were watching a song mashup of Ozzie Osborne and Earth, Wind and Fire and we were both laughing so much then all the sudden I was like 😮😰 "uh I think my water just broke" 😂😂 Did not expect to be having my baby that day but my best friend had just said the day before "I think he's gonna be here by the end of the week" 😅

I had my son on July 14th at 38w 5d. I'd love to share my positive birth experience as labor and delivery was an absolute dream for me. I live in Canada and think I could offer a different perspective compared to what you traditionally see for vaginal hospital deliveries in the States.

why are doctors so worried about shoulder dystocia? my baby was just under 4kg and they pressured me to get a c section the next day because of the risk of shoulder dystocia. is the risk really that high? i was born naturally and i was heavier than that.
