@polygonpen why do you have to unwrap the UVs? How would I know when it is necessary to unwrap UV and when it is not needed?

It is always good to have unwraped UVs, but if you are just going to use materials, it is not needed, but if you want to texture or paint your object, it is necessary.

Okay thanks. What if I want to add label to a specific area of a model? Like a button or a function?

@@mutolibbusari979 First option, You unwrap and texture it by hand, second option you can add a material, put your label to your color channel, then change your materials projection to flat or cubic then try to rotate, move your material until the label fits in place, second option is faster but I would recommend the first one.
