Industrial design sketching style vs. illustration style

Interesting comparison. Of course, I like the illustration/comic style as that’s what I’m shooting for in my art. But I have found your industrial tutorials very helpful in learning constitution. I find that both will help me in reaching goal of being able to draw dead leaves.

Yes exactly as you could see I still used the ID approach for the setup with the pencil.

You mean a style comparison in sketchbook? I think there I land between the two I always skew a bit more towards cartoon when I draw digitally.

I use industrial design style for practice, but my main style is illustration.

Great vid and really enjoyed the process you go through to get to the final result. I really enjoy both styles, and will switch between then as the brief dictates (sometimes a more illustrative style gives a better ‘feel’ for the part your trying to visually describe….if that makes sense?).

Thanks Andy. Yeah I pretty much do the same thing I always start out with with construction but depending on what is needed I also tend to skew towards cartoon quite often.
