That 2nd verse lyric is perhaps the most amazing collection of words I've ever heard from any musical artist. To think that English is not her first language, what this young woman does with words is simply stunning.

You have to check out AURORA - Live in Nidarosdomen, it's an old Church of Norway and was the traditional location for the consecration of new Kings of Norway. It was built over a 230-year period, from 1070 to 1300.It is a magical Performance. The full Concert is here on KZbin

What I really like about Aurora (but of course what isn´t to like?) is that she uses her body to express her art. And not like many artists do in a sexualized way. She as a person and as an artist is absolutely unique and stunning. This song? It goes so deep! She really transports the urgency and underlying despair about the message. There is no second world. Thank you for your reaction video!

Just from the first few lines " Just like the seed I dont know where to go Through dirt and shadow i grow Im reaching light through the struggle'' It got me hard im mean literally like the seeds do struggle to grow underground before the can reach the top so that they can 'reach light' and continue to live and it all happens slowly in 'slow motion' as stated Seriously all of her songs are masterpieces'
@TomTomson813 жыл бұрын
"I went to far" live on honda stage. Aurora has to be seen live. Aurora changes her songs partly drastically to the album. You always feel her albums are the beginning of the journey of her songs. On stage they are different again, but never really finished. And if there are little things she changed again and again. She is a perfectionist and they are never satisfied. And so her songs continue to develop.

She whispers dialog when the music drops out. You can barely hear it but it’s there. I think there are post online of what she’s saying. Great song. I’ve been a huge fan of hers for years. A lot of vocalist these days don’t write their own lyrics. So when they perform those songs they don’t really have a connection to the words. Aurora writes her lyrics from personal experiences and views she’s personally connected to. So when she performs them, her movements are a direct response to how it makes her feel. I think that is what sets her apart from other artist. Being emotionally connected to what you are writing and singing about and allowing that connection to control the performance is what makes it a stellar performance. Just my opinion.

Most of her songs are written completely by her - there were a couple of songs where her managers had her work with some established songwriters, but I believe even those were primarily hers, Also, Magnus her drummer has helped her with production, but I get the feeling that once she "got" what that was all about, she has also done the lion's share of producing. The live performances are definitely her at her very best, but that doesn't mean that the studio and music videos versions aren't good [ on the contrary they are almost universally excellent. If you want to hear some really good story telling lyrics and see her do some incredibly beautiful dancing (with a couple of drones) please check out Winter Bird kzbin.info/www/bejne/horHnpKQZtyhh5I

My friend you got the right video. As I mentioned in a previous reaction she changes things up in live performances so this song feels very different depending on the live performance. Also you may have noticed that pretty much her entire dance she doesn’t move from where she is standing. She is a tree. As for her hand movements. I laugh at people who make fun of her hand movements. Watch rockers singing and doing their thing rocking away. No different.

Also for what it's worth I prefer reactions to her music videos. Vocal coaches may have a lot to say about her live sets but I prefer the video to not be paused as often as vocal coaches do, and I also think her vocals sound very pure, not too altered, on music video tracks so it seems similar enough to me but with less interrupting. I do like her singing on NPR though

Her in the video to me is like Mother Nature or a goddess of land and the earth begging for us to change. From the set to the way she’s dressed to the way she’s dancing I just feel like she’s portraying a goddess or Mother Nature. She’s in pain crying out for us to change cuz we’re hurting her. Eventually (at like halfway through or at the bridge) she gets angry and we see the clips of the earth in a darker way (the waves, the rain, etc). It’s like she (the goddess or Mother Nature) is angry and whereas before it was a warning and now it’s a threat. Before she was trying to be kind and trying to make us see but now we’re going to feel her wrath and her pain and her anger. Her traditional dress and her facial expressions and the dying flowers around her just give me this vengeful, angry goddess who’s about to make us pay for the pain we’ve caused. It’s just so beautiful.

I looked at your list of videos. Impressive, but I'm amazed you got to 63K subs without reacting to any NightWish or Wardruna or Sabaton. NightWish, especially, is the band that, when reacted-to, explodes subscriptions. Their fan base is HUGE. and their music is imcomparable. I don't say that lightly. Check out NightWish at Wacken Open Air 2013 (82,000 in attendance). Most people start out with "Ghost Love Score" but I generally recommend "Romanticide" first.
