I see some people in the comments saying this isn't really his best track, implying it's not that good. Idk what you guys are hearing, this song is incredible to me. Strong rapping, great production, even the hook was great imo as well, and mix that with good storytelling and this is a phenomenal track

You do realize everyone's different right? Some people can relate to this song (like me) and others can't and alot of times those people won't really enjoy this song like someone like me whose struggled with addiction or still is. Either way there is nothing wrong with someone saying this isn't his best track I love this song It's helped me alot with that said I don't think it's his best track but that doesn't mean i think it's a bad song just because I don't think it's his best track but it's an amazing song I mean if you look at ems whole catalog how can you not understand how others may like another song more even if you just look at his more meaningful songs they might relate more to one of those then this one!!

That part where he goes "i never had no problem with alcohol" I always felt like he was describing how alcohol wasn't his main demon but he also shows how the alcohol was a gateway to the pills. He would get drunk and wake up with a headache so that gave him an excuse to use the pills aswell.
@ds72142 жыл бұрын
Think he also says it ironically as the line after that is "ouch look out for the wall aim for the couch im bout to fall" as though the alcohol is making him fall over the place. He says it like someone who is addicted to alcohol might deny it when its clear its a problem

Yea I also dabbled with opiate addiction for about 5 years and everything he’s saying hits so hard when you actually know first hand. Another great Eminem song about his drug addiction is never love again off of mtbmb. One of the best if not the best songs about drugs I ever heard. Every line in that song and this song is straight facts. He’s the best story teller ever like you said man. To anyone in here battling addiction just don’t give up. You can do it just keep trying no matter how many times you fail🙏🏼

@@dartslyder4225 imo nah. MMLP2 to me is still top tier Eminem. I mean it has a mix of introspective songs, bar heavy songs, and story telling songs. The worst part about MMLP2 is literally its singles like Monster and Berserk which imo suck compared to the rest of the album. imo Revival was when he had a massive drop in quality especially production wise, but I still enjoyed that album. He did fall off sales wise with Revival tho. all in all imo Em skill wise hasn't fallen off.

Please React to Eminem “Going Through Changes” it’s a banger also Deja Vu is possibly the best song off Relapse very introspective and yeah Em was never a junkie he was a drug addict tho he explained it once look up his interview about his drug addiction or even his 106 & Park interview in 2009 Em The Goat Of Hip Hop frfr✍🏽🐐🔥🎯💯(Also this Beat is fucking nasty Dr Dre put his foot in these beats on the Relapse album Dre still till this day hasn’t made theses types of unique beats like this for any other artist but Em I hope we get these types of Beats from Dre on an Eminem album soon hope he fully produces the album as well cause when him and Em link up it’s greatness and masterpieces come out within the process,also it’s a method behind Em’s madness it shows how versatile he truly is as not only a Hip Hop Artist but also a Music Artist just in general and it shows how conceptually genius he is within this song and more within his discography)

Ok, my brain just connected this all these years later. In AA they tell you "relapse is part of recovery". That's why he named his next 2 albums relapse and recovery. Kind of makes me wonder if there's a hidden connection between the 2 albums because that's the kind of Easter egg the evil genius would put in there.

Wow, never heard this one it hits home in many ways. I myself have a list demons I'm fighting and the medication is addictive so I have to make sure I always have it and take it or my body goes haywire . And even though you know not to mix it with alcohol or even pot ... you do it when you are at your low and just don't care anymore. I have mixed my shit just so I can stop thinking . I have a big issue with pain meds when I have surgery or something I have to make self space it out and try to not take the whole amount or im hooked then when you run out and start coming down that's not fun at all. Thanks for putting this out there.

Can understand how this makes you feel. Had 2 alcoholic grandparents so I have addictive personality too. At 30 I was prescribed Ultracet for a calcium deposit that formed where your hip meets spine bc dr misdiagnosed it as pinched nerve. 6 mos physical therapy did nothing. At the time doctors thought Ultracet was wonder drug & not addictive at all. I could’ve told them after a mo bc my body knew when I needed another pill. Started at 4-5 a day, when I was up to 7-8 a day dr still wasn’t concerned but I knew I was addicted so I weaned myself off them. You feel like you’re going to jump out of your skin and everything is off kilter.
