This album is just brilliant. For me it's kinda like a movie. Not everyone likes horror flicks but that doesn't mean they're bad. ppl gotta get over the mindset that there are only certain acceptable topics in HipHop. From the opening skit (Dr West) to the last song Em is bringing us through his addiction experience. It's no surprise that fans and critics alike are revisiting this project and re-rating it. Em is straight up genius when it comes to his storytelling & imagery. He could easily write a horror movie script or graphic novels. There is something about this song and the entirety of the Relapse album I just enjoy reactions to. Stay wide a wake is my favorite song reactors react to. The whole album is a serial killer/ horror theme. The songs were made inbetween when Eminem was on drugs and going through rehab and flushing the drugs out. A time where em had to relearn to rap.

11:50 about the conviction part. Maybe I'm looking too deep into it, but it's a song about a serial killer and really most of the album is horror/killer based hence the accents he was doing. So maybe the lack of conviction is to try and insinuate it's just another day for him. He does this shit on the daily and he's become numb to it. To kind of really lean into that psychopath mindset. Also, something I just learned today is that bassline is emulating a heartbeat which I somehow never noticed before. Relapse is still one of my favorite albums from Em
