I never understood how was a battle after this. What made MGK think he has a chance. This Em verse is more complex and better than MGK's whole discography. I like MGK's music, it's cool, it bops, but it's nowhere near Em. Then again, the "battle" was entertaining, and it turned MGK to a different career path, which further elevates Eminem as not to be fucked with as well as gave a better MGK to music fans. As much as his rap is cool, his pop-punk shit is better imo.

This is my favorite track from Eminem since…well, in so long. Since Relapse probably, my favorite Eminem album. That tech 9 sub machine gun line is spit with so much fury. PURE FURY. And let’s not overlook Nickel. He held his own and brought his own brand of heat here. Royce has longgg been one of the fiercest, dopest, lyricist and rhymers in the game. The whole track is perfection. Hard AF. Real emotion here too as Slim sounds PISSED. And with good reason. This was 2000 Eminem rage right here. The whole album Kamikaze is a hell of a comeback coming off Revival, which had its own perspective and a couple decent tracks. But not the distilled fury, the focus, the pure rawness of Kamikaze. It’s a minor masterpiece, that is underrated in my opinion. It’s lyricism, rhyming, cadence truly at a god like level (it even has fire beats) and pure, precise rage. For all the right reasons. It’s an incredible album, that only gets better the more you listen.

Saying em is trying to take food off MGK and an entire city. 2018 in march MGK subliminally dissed em on tech's song "no reason" 2018 in August Em finally answers on "not alike" 3 days later MGK releases rap devil. YES there was a battle after this, BUT in my opinion that is only because MGK had already written most of his song "Rap Devil". As soon as Kamikaze dropped, MGK put out a 6 second video of himself popping champagne on twitter and then MGK put out "Rap Devil" and the music video for it only 2 days after Kamikaze dropped. I don't think MGK would have been able to posture himself with any confidence if he heard not alike first and then tried to go and write a response. Because Kamikaze came after Believe, the press was still criticizing and downplaying Eminem's on going music career and I think a lot of people to this day still never heard Not Alike, even if they listened to the 2 followup songs in the battle. I think Not Alike is clearly the best song to come out of the whole beef, and I think Rap Devil was a shockingly good attempt to attack Eminem, despite its many flaws, it has a few REALLY powerful punches that no one had really seen Eminem get hit with before. The problem is that MGK just isn't that great of a rapper and it showed when he didn't have anything else in the chamber to follow up with after Killshot came out and responded to everything in Rap Devil.
