There are different Filters on the Loopstation. So basically they do an input sound and then can choose different filters, to change that accordingly. Edit: Balance is another high class Looper and the round NME is doing, is a round from Balance. Edit 2: When NME played with the high hats on his chaos pad, he was refering to Rythmind, who has done something similar in another battle, only with beating his mic to make Kicks. At least I think that was a reference. Not totally sure though.

Actual chad music understander here being rightfully confused about how NME lost It's honestly super refreshing. I don't like watching reacts to this battle usually because most people tend to think Rhythmind won because they don't really get what was happening in NME's second round. The complexity and structure just go completely over their heads. Dude's straight up a musical genius. Thanks for that, keep it up. Some other people commented already, but SO-SO v Beatness is an excellent loop battle. You should also check out the entire SBX Kickback battle. There isn't a single clip that isn't a straight up banger in the full even compilation, but check out specifically D-Low v Zekka and Villain v Dudz

Just putting in some suggestions here: - Reeps One. One of the first i know that used song structure and composition in his beats, taking them for purely battle beatbox to full blown songs. Also REALLY good grime bass - Beardyman. OG Looper and amazing ear. Has made a insane setup nowdays where he puts out concerts on twitch made up on the spot.

I'm super late with my comment but I just recently found the loopstation stuff and I'm absolutely hooked. In my opinion both deserved the win. The first time I listened to NME's second round I was just confused and didn't as much as I should have. The more I watch it the more I appreciate it and see the talent and it's extremely brave to do something like this in the final round because it's so different from anything we've heard before and I think doing that in the finals was an amazing decision. I think it will stay in people's memories more than rythminds songs because it's so special and I don't know if that's maybe even worth more than the win. Even though I think that both deserved the win, I lean more towards NME now. I hope we hear more of him in the future and of course from Rythmind too. Both are super talented in their own ways

I've been a beatboxer for 12 years now. Objectively commenting on the process of implementing the whole GBB19 tournament, RYTHMIND deserves to be the champion. He took his performances to perfection, with almost no flaws. The judges were right, and NME also played well but still hard to compare with RYTHMIND. Congratulations to both of you for doing well in this competition.

NME lost points for doing a song somebody already did. Balance did That Stick already and that's what he was talking about when he said this is a shout out to Balance and that's also why Rythmind was doing that motion with his arms. It's what's called "biting". Taking from something that's already been done. Any time you see one of these guys throw up 2 fingers, is pretty much the same thing or if you're being repetitive. That's their way of making the judges aware of it just in case they don't notice for themselves.

this in my opinion was a very close battle, but out of all the loopstation battles, rythmind’s end of the second round (the flatline) was considered to be legendary by many reactors, let alone beatboxers and other loopers in the beatbox community. it was by far the best loopstation battle ive ever seen hands down!

Nme is also one of the best loopers of all time, he may have lost this battle because his second round wasn't new. You should check out one of the 3 best loopers of all time (with Saro and Thorsen) for me : Inkie. He is the "strange" one, the "dark" one, and his style is more than unique, his tracks make you travel into hell (or paradise sometimes).

Just being new to the beatbox/loop station community is actually a virtue in itself. You're not blinded by the biases that some people have, and that's good. No hate to rythmind at all, the guy is insane, but the beatbox community definitely has an obsession with who has more impressive drops and who sounds more technical, and they seem to throw the music aspect by the wayside a little bit. I agree with you by the way. NME was, in my opinion, the clear winner.
