You forgot to mention their perfect skin. Finding 5 humans who look that good in extreme close-up is almost as improbable as getting this much talent in one group without egos getting in the way.

So true. We are fortunate that they are who they are and they seem to be just as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. Whether they were raised right or they were born with wonderful souls we may never really know but I am glad they are here to add their beautiful music to the world.

Thanks for this reaction Cliff - If you haven't checked it out yet, their cover of Gold by Kiiara is awesome, but do yourself a favor and listen to the original first, so you can really hear how PTX upgrades it!!
@perfectkismet3 жыл бұрын
This was also going to be my suggestion. And as gorgeous as it is in its own right, it's definitely better appreciated by those who know what Mitch is just straight-up singing a cover of. Most reactors that post back to backs bail out on the original partway through. And I love the cartoon look even beyond how much better it is than messages about content blockers every 15 seconds. Glad you're doing well now, Cliff!

I LOVE this version WAY better than the original for one simple reason. The original was recorded by Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper, who in this case are just two movie actors trying to "make believe" the emotions necessary for this highly emotional song. In this version, it is sung by Scott & Kirstie...two life-long friends who have had a lifetime of memories together, even dated for a while in high school, and are as close as siblings. NOBODY ELSE could give this song the emotional delivery that these two can!! Just watch the looks they give each other as they sing. The black & white with gold is an homage to the Star Is Born movie posters and soundtrack album cover. As I've said before, I like the cartoon look, but be careful saying you're a cartoon and can't be hurt. Someone might break out the Goop. My congratulations to anyone who gets that reference!

I'm early for once! Did you notice at 5:40 in this video - the do a small riff from Bad Romance. This is the kind of stuff I love about PTX - they can make a song sound incredible and even hide things in there that you don't pick up until someone points them out!

Pentatonix is always growing, polishing their craft. This is so beautiful, I had to play it over again three or four times when I first listened to it. Kirstie, Scott, and Mitch's vocals are heart-rending, and the rhythm/bass was peerless. I agree with the folks who have suggested Say Something.

Great reaction and appreciation of their talent. They are perfectionists and will not release a cover or original unless they feel it is flawless. The give 110%. Their work ethic is amazing. Pre-pandemic when they were on tour, they would write original songs, arrange covers, and rent recording spaces to record.....even when they were in Japan on tour.

I really enjoy your reactions and have recently become a Pentaholic myself. Don't apologize for stopping to explain a lyric. So many people get drawn into the melody of songs and forget to pay attention to the lyrics. Also, you're so right about that particular lyric. As a society we're never happy, always looking for more. I for one, am just a 66 yr old lady loving the simple life. You seem to have a lot of good wisdom for a young man and maybe that has a lot to do with whatever you've been through. I don't know your story, but from what you said in this video, you've been through something difficult. I'm glad things are getting better for you and wish you a long and healthy life. I would suggest Say Something next. Also definitely listen to the originals before reacting to PTX upgrades...like Gold (Kiiara), Problem (Ariana Grande), No (Meghan Trainor), Can't Hold Us (Macklemore & Lewis), Aha (Imogene Heap) to name a few. They also have some awesome originals... Cracked, A Light In The Hallway, Water, Sing, and Run To You as a starting point. Then there are the Christmas upgrades... Oh Come All Ye Faithful, Little Drummer Boy, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, The First Noel, The Twelve Days Of Christmas and Your A Mean One Mr. Grinch are some of my favorites. The Grammy wins are outstanding and the classics like Hallelujah, Imagine, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Amazing Grace are on another level entirely. Really, you can't choose a bad option in their entire catalog.
