The “Harry Potter business” refers to Newton’s search for the Philosopher’s Stone. Newton was big into alchemy and the occult (he didn’t even consider his work on gravity to be as important as his work on the occult). The original book title was “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”. It was changed to “Sorcerer’s Stone” for the American edition

There is a double build into the math Newton does. It's a problem he considered to be impossible to solve because he thought the concept of i, was fanciful fake math. So he meant it as a diss, but it was proved later, which Neil DeGrasse Tyson rightly points out.

I mean they are like BFFs in real life, but that is sort of their dynamic. Nye understands how to reach people, and Tyson actually knows what he's talking about. He teaches bill things so bill can teach us.

Bill Nye isn't really meant to be an Isaac Newton. You can say what you will about him, but the fact is he was a great influence who helped make science fun for kids and teens growing up and got them interested into the field of science. He also simplified science in many ways to make it more understandable in general. And it's not as if he isn't intelligent, but it takes a certain kind of person to be on the level of coming up with solutions to age old questions, like Einstein and Newton and Hawking. Bill Nye is more like your awesome science teacher who you can tell is passionate about their subject and wants to help teach you and give you the tools to succeed.

Hey Cliff Beats! Watched a lot of your stuff - awesome. The equation that Wierd Al sang is actually one of the proposed ways of calculating the area under a curve in CALCULUS that Newton helped develop. There are a range of answers (~64) and one of the answers that actually makes a REALLY accurate answer is "i" as in, the imaginary number that is the square-root of -1. It just really shows how awesome the lyrics are for this battle.

Even though I am an artist, I LOVE Newton and Einstein. If I didn't go for an art degree, I would have been a physicist. The math and memory of formulas is what kept me from it though. I also like the format you do these videos. Go through it the first time and then break it down. I respect that to save time. I would like to see some research maybe done? I don't think it will spoil the battle, but I feel it can help to create more discussions unless that's why you leave some gaps. I enjoy it enough though :) I do like the "I got a unit of force named after me" cause there is a unit called newton, I forgot how it's calculated (hah get it? Calculous), but I think it's considered 1 unit of force is a single newton.
