IndyCar 2013: Round 16 Baltimore [Full]

I'm starting my graduate semester again... been so busy I haven't even watched the race lol. Seriously I'm uploading a race I haven't seen yet. But I heard it's a good one. A surprise podium this time around ;) But that's all I know. Hope you guys enjoy.

A large part is the types of the tracks that IndyCar seems to like to go to. In F1 and many other European sports the tracks are quite wide and have a lot of run off. But IndyCar tracks are very thin, bumpy, and not much runoff at all. When IndyCar seems to go to more wider road courses with more places to go off the cautions and crashes drops and often times IndyCar races can go green to checkered.

Thanks for posting. What happened in 1:51:21 is the reason why I don't like street courses. Passing is difficult and with so many turns, these cars can't go very fast. I know an all-oval series (which I supported) is not universally popular but the series should focus more on ovals and road courses and drop the street courses. BTW, best of luck in graduate school. Knock 'em dead!

The track itself was not so bad overall and good for a slow street circuit. It's the event itself that was fantastic. The location was really amazing- it was in the center of the city and the event itself was like a big party. Baltimore is a considerable loss to IndyCar, IMSA and the city of Baltimore- the awkward Pratt Street chicane (that was put there because there are subway tracks there and the road went slightly up and down for everyday traffic to smoothly pass over the track. Also, the spectacularly stupid decision-making by IMSA on the start of the ALMS race there didn't help. It's such a shame that this race went by the wayside. American open-wheel racing has been to much worse street circuits- San Jose, for example, also what was ALMS in the 90's went to Minneapolis. If you want to see two truly horrible street circuits- I suggest you people look those tracks up.

Ive notice NBCSN has a new audio Director. Their production on Team Radio mixed in with commentators was very well sync with critical racing events happening at that point in time. I was immersed more in the race when hearing actual team radio.

As the commentator said last time that box is for NASCAR so that line is invalid. Glad no one was hurt but what a swizz. Ozzies are flak magnets for penalties in open wheel racing it seems... esp in the pits. DR was not at fault, his team might have been so why not penalise the team only? Anyway, thanks for this video!

The commentating could be better. They are slow to comment on exciting passes. Rather than capturing an exiting passes as they happen, they comment moments later with a passive tone “oh and as you notice so and so passed him moments ago... “. So deflating. Motorsports deserve much better!
