No matter how bad NASCAR or IndyCar busts get, at least 95% of them are good people off the track. This unfortunately was a case of not only a bad driver, but an awful (I can't even call them a person) sub-human.

@@andrewhaywood1262 ChampCar had a separate International feed with different graphics and Englishman Jeremy Shaw doing commentary. I think part of the reason was that in the US, there are so many advert breaks - way more than what you would find in the UK, for example - it made sense to have continuous commentary throughout the race, rather than the silence in the breaks that we tend to get with coverage of American racing. I remember Jeremy inviting a young Formula Atlantics driver by the name of James Hinchcliffe to co-commentate on a race with him. He was such a natural, Jeremy had him back several times that season and he even did some commentary work with A1GP afterwards.

I think the amount of pointless and un-needed hate and death threats he got from some "fans" may have affected him. To me it has seemed like he has lost his confidence completely. I remember IRL in the late 90s having a ridiculous ammount of filler or straight bad drivers completing the 33 of the Indy 500, I remember my countryman Eliseo Salazar even making to the top 5 a couple of times and he was definitively a F1 and Cart reject (ok he wasnt a complete disaster but no way he was better than the top 10 Cart guys) I wish that Cart had stayed like it was in 1995, I remember watching some incredible races in ESPN

WOAH. Was not prepared for the turn THIS tale took....good lord. No matter how cynical one gets, it never fails to boggle the mind the depths of depravity and cruelty human beings can sink to. And here I thought I was just watching a story of a laughably delusional failed IndyCar driver. And great drivers and more importantly (obviously) human beings like Dan W die on track instead of this monster. Man this world can be so damn depressing...

Dear Darian, you should consider making a video about Tony George. Do you think Tony George is the IndyCar racing community's version of Brian France? I mean I didn't doubt on early 2000s Indy Racing League, but people kinda think that he instigates the second American Open Wheel Racing Split back in mid-90s.
