Yeah I had my jaw open for the entire pass. Funny thing is, during the race I thouht his driving was reminiscent of Jaques father, Gilles, with his flat out, uncomprimising driving. He did a great (albeit unintentional) tribute of the Villeneuve duo there. I hope he can win the championship at some point or at thje very least win a race. With Indianapolis being the sight of his first pole, hopefully he can win at either of the events coming up.

At least a 1/3 of the field is filled with top tier drivers in good equipment, not to mention the veterans and young guns further back in the pack. Following the sport for the last 30 years, I have to say the last few years have been the most competitive I've ever seen.

Great win, well managed race by Scott McLaughlin but Grosjean really has no fear or no care with that move on Mclaughlin could had ended in tears for both drivers. McLaughlin said he didn't want to hit him so let him go. turned out to be the right move, Grosjean had no more push to pass and had to push hard that cost him going wide, was all Scott McLaughlin needed. Well done, Congratulations.

@@dustinglenn829 hard is a very fine line to being careless McLaughlin backed off and Grojean did have the inside line going into the corner, hey I'm not knocking him for trying but drivers pushing hard passing on the corner this year, have taken out unsuspecting drivers, Pato O'ward on Dixon last race. Did the same move next lap and came of 2nd best. Nothing wrong being aggressive as long as you are mindful of those around you. That's all. Hot heads can ruin your day.

He went through all the crap that Mick had to go through last year, being pressured and stressed by his team, trying to meet pretty high expectations in barely competitive cars. In his Lotus days he was quite good, has 10 podiums to his name, and in 2013 was giving Kimi a run for his money on a regular basis. Grosjean is a much better driver than half the current F1 grid.

We're gonna go into the final of Laguna Seca with Indy legend Scott Dixon and Romain level on points. On the final straight, Scott is gonna pull a Jan Magnussen and absolutley send it on him. They are gonna have a massive crash, and the two are gonna get out of the car and sprint for the line on foot. They are side by side, and Scotty and Romain make the dive. Romain misses, but Scotty gets his finger over the line, meaning he finally equals the great A.J Foyt's record. They both get up the floor, and Romain says "Monseiur Scott, you have finally set me free. And for that I thank you" and he puts out his hand for a handshake. "I'll never shake your hand" Scotty replies "But I'll give you this" _REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED_ And the crowd loved it!!!

As somebody that wants anyone but Penske to win, I have to ask about the delayed caution about mid race. That seemed like a race breaking call for the Penske team if that caution flies before all of them pit. Instead Indy car basically tells everyone we are going to throw a caution in about 90sec, if you want to pit now would be a great time! I'm not sure how I feel about it. Calling for a 3 stop strategy incurs risks of such cautions, if they are going to delay them, it makes that strategy far less risky. It also opens a very slippery slope of when is an immediate caution warranted vs the "delayed caution"? I'll give credit to Indy car in that they've been consistent with this delay caution the last couple of years. As highly recommend a trip to Barber Motorsports Park if you've never gone. We parked at a nearby mall and they bussed us in and out. Less than 15 minutes after the race we were on the highway. Very impressive system they've developed to get people in and out of there.

the comment on using up tires faster with less downforce didn't make sense to me. Either way aren't the same forces going through the tires, you just have less downforce in dirty air and won't have as much grip?

less downforce means the car is going to slide more in the turns which uses up the tired faster

You really need to increase slip angle and really lean on the tires more to make up the difference for less downforce. The forces are a little different, instead of a stronger force pushing the tire into the ground for grip, the tire slides and sheds more rubber in a trade for grip.
