A gem from the Addrisi Brothers (Don and Dick), the ersatz Everlys "Cherry Stone." (Sorry, Kalin Twins.) Years later, the Addrisis wrote the brilliant "Never My Love" for the Association.

Wow!!!! They're really playing a lot of tunes that became forgotten favorites - stuff you don't even hear on present-day Pure Gold Oldies stations! But besides that, this totally represents a time in radio history when it wasn't just about the music, but the whole experience: The on-air personalities, local commercials, news, etc. Back when it was still possible for radio stations to be locally owned and operated, and programmers were not expected to follow the kind of repetitive cookie-cutter format later instituted by corporate entities like Clear Channel communications and such. So, unless you were lucky to pull in a 24-hour station from some other part of the country, all the night owls out there were basically out of luck! LOL! I know this because both my parents came of age during this first Golden era of Rock N' Roll. And my dad told me that, once the airwaves were cleared, you could check out all-night stations in major markets like Chicago, Cleveland, Nashville, etc.

This is so cool! Do you have any more? My grandfather listened to this when he was a kid back then, so i think that he would definitely enjoy this! What a time capsule!

Did anyone else notice the fan in the background when the DJ was talking. I’m kind of curious what is it a transmitter fan, or possibly a window air conditioner.
