This was my favorite radio station when I lived in Arizona in 1986 and 1987. I remember so well when they said: KKFR - your fire station. Good old days that won't ever come back!

Yup, I know what you mean. The late 80's in Phoenix were the best. I don't know how old you are, but back then, I spent a lot of weekend nights at clubs like After the Gold Rush, Graham Central Station, Zazoos, Malarkey's, and Acapulco Bay Beach Club. I'm sure there were also others. Phoenix was a great place then. Now in Phoenix, the radio stations are boring corporate background music, the deejays are completely forgettable (might even be artificial) - and the nightclubs are, well, do they even exist? The good old days are gone forever, as you said.

Who was the announcer?

There were a number of announcers featured on this aircheck. One of the most notable was Super Snake. He was the afternoon drive jock at a number of Top 40 or Hip-Hop stations in Phoenix, AZ.
