I watched this vehicle from early development stage. It’s really the true spiritual successor to the Defender.

Might be a bit cheap for those OPW people. Maybe if these cost €200k OPW might be interested 😂

A good review. One correction … to engage the diff locks you press the button once (not twice).

Getting the VAT back is the only reason I would buy it, this is why we never got Ranger Raptors
@hedydd26 күн бұрын
Where are you based? If in the UK then nobody gets this vehicle. That payload and VAT being unable to be reclaimed kills it stone dead. I was at South Wales’s only main dealer the other week and they have had a demonstrator for four months and not sold a single unit. As soon as the customer is told, as they must be, that it qualifies for neither VAT nor 100% tax offsetting, they run away. Apparently Ineos have about 100 Quartermasters in UK stock, built and ready to roll but they have only sold literally a handful. Indeed from January to end of September Ineos only managed to register 200 total all vehicles for the road, compared to 800 last year. They have quite a few in dealer and Ineos stock which includes the old van version and the five seater panel side, none of which qualify for VAT. Some of the van versions are now being sent to the the South Wales company that converts Rangers to MS-RT, to disable the second row doors and totally blank off the second row door windows, remove the inside door controls and electric window functions. These will finally give Granaadier a solitary blind van that qualifies for VAT claims. It is almost inconceivable that Ineos had so little understanding of UK tax rules and tried to sell these as commercial vehicles when they didn’t qualify. Particularly puzzling are the five seat panel side versions with reduced legroom in the second row, Since these DO NOT qualify for VAT purposes and they are therefore no cheaper to buy than the more luxury passenger vehicles, there is no point whatsoever in anyone buying them. Unfortunately Ineos and dealers have lots of these in stock and now that the VAT situation is public and beyond any doubt, these are unsaleable. They are now being dealer registered and significantly discounted as used low mileage vehicles. The potential customer has all the power with the panel side vehicles and can name their price and if there isn’t at least a 20% discount off list price, they should walk away. Once more, at double the price of Ranger Wildtrak [due mostly to the VAT situation] the Quartermaster is a DEAD DUCK. No boss would ever countenance that for business purposes and no worker would wish one due to the high Benefit in Kind tax that would be deducted from their wages for driving one.

If there were a single cab version with a long bed, that would make it a true workhorse. I appreciate real off-roaders, but I just hope people don’t plan to daily drive these in towns and cities.

Quatermass Experiment. Parking sensors look very exposed...never cheap to replace after hitting roadkill! Interior from old school Cessna & Marantz. Just the thing for the Queen Consort?

Nobby,👍 it ok for real driving. But city driving and parking especially shopping centres it be a inconvenience for me. I like it ain't for me, though

The caster and tire pressure need to be checked on this unit if you have issue holding a line with anything other than occasional nudge.

@@NobbyOnCars I see lots of reviews where the person comments how vague the steering is off centre and then drives down the highway constantly moving the steering wheel from side to side. It either does nothing to the steering or the steering or it does. You can't have both. I have 28,000 kms on mine and no problem at all with the steering.

Being an owner of a 2 seat IG van, Ineos just screwed up, and should have built this as a long bed pick up with dropside.

Nope defo to expensive and there are far better trucks out there like the ford ranger and ranger raptor but if you have the money and only use this off road like farming then it's a kind of funkie truck but nope not for me sorry, great video though 👍

Ranger Raptor is in the same VAT category. So excessively expensive to buy and run for 99,9% of businesses including the VAT registered self employed micro businessman. The top Amarok Adventura also falls into the same category which I define as ‘rich person’s toys’.
