Inescapable: No Rules, No Rescue may not be the death game it appears to be in its marketing or early gameplay. Still, it keeps players engaged throughout the narrative with intense moral choices and deceptive twists. The initial sense of security gives way to unpredictability, making players question their decisions. While the game occasionally demands player assumptions to piece together events, it offers an enjoyable and thought-provoking experience. The game's diversity and immersive character development shine, even though it takes time to reach the darker, more thrilling aspects. With such promise, it's exciting to anticipate what Dreamloop Games will offer next.

I just couldn’t get behind this one man, I bought it on release day and have since played through 2 of the games 4 routes, I didn’t have it in me to play either of the others because the good characters and presentation of this game is not enough to warrant the absurd amount of time it takes to reach significant narrative bits and an absolutely horrendous main character, not to mention the fact that your choices basically don’t affect anything after the 50th day out of potentially 180. Want to do the romance route? Sure just so long as you don’t expect the relationship to last or to get ANY chance of a happy ending of any kind. Same if you wanna win money, main character is just possessed by the spirit of a money grubbing shithead out of nowhere along the way and the train to his untimely and well-deserved death cannot be stopped. Even if the half of the routes i didn’t play were good (not holding out hope for great) it still wouldn’t change the fact that half of this 50$ VN is straight rotten garbo

Never played a Dangan-Ronpa game, but just looking at the box art it made me think of Zero Escape but this game is not similar to zero escape games.

I've noticed quite a few contradictions with what the developer passed the game off as: First - they say that it's to raise awareness of "Misogyny". This is a lie, because the women in the game are all the murderers (Exceptions being Mia and Valerie, buuuut they're left six feet under) - alongside Gio (Greed Route - dead in Suspicion), Daan and Isak (Even though he also ends up six feet under in the final chapter of the Suspicion Route) Second - The protagonist is constantly moaning about Misogyny Third - Despite being "LGBTQIA friendly", you can only get 3 endings in the Lust Route - all of which are female Fourth - They poorly represent mental health, by saying that Eva has ADHD - when it feels more like she just had autism pretty weak on the spectrum (Speaking from experience). Anni, who has Hyperthymesia (Basically extremely strong memory) somehow "forgets" that there was poison in the apple crumble and is able to be manipulated into helping with the plan Fifth - They present Daan as this "Hero of justice", who agrees with the "House Arrest" idea in the beginning. Come the end, it turns out that he was one of the people who planned the poisoning - intending for the culprits, and Harrison (Even though Mia ended up eating the poison) to be killed via poison while passing themselves (Since it's a joint effort between the 4 survivors) off as some masked stranger who poisons them. Sixth - The devs pass Sasha (Who's non-binary) off as a stereotype with her constant porn jokes. Finally - When the CEO got negative feedback on the game, he threw a massive tantrum of which two of the VA's in the game stuck up for him (One of them said that half the cast were LGBTQIA... funny how they were the only 2 backing him up. 'Specially given the fact their jobs were at stake if things didn't change soon)

Fourth- Pretty sure Annika was lying about forgetting the poison in the apple crumble since she didn’t want to out herself. Annika is also her maid persona so we never really got to see what the real her is like and how she was manipulated

Literally, they say it’s against misogyny but then the main character is basically SA-ing the female characters … The lgbtq+ characters are also terrible people (most literal murderers) and as a non-binary person I absolutely despise that non-binary character , they’re literally a walking stereotype ( same for the disabled characters constantly being infantilised and very stereotypical )

Hated this game...finished it last night and now going back to playing Nonary games. Same songs for half the game no matter what room. No puzzles beyond the baby one at the start and the 5 word one on your app. The middle of the game is a chore to slog through & gets boring

One of the games I’ve preordered glad it’s not a carbon copy of danganronpa and it’s diverse enough to stand on its own 😄 like process of elimination that was different I’m hoping we will see sequels to both of these

I'm having trouble getting into the game. I feel like I'm constantly waiting for something to happen and nothing is. Maybe I'm just too old but I have no idea what some of the characters are even saying at times and it's not because they're speaking a foreign language. They also seem pretty stereotyped. I get the feeling as I play the game more it will get better and all sorts of stuff will get revealed, but I just don't care enough to keep going. I'm so bored, which is unfortunate but it's cool that others are enjoying the game as it was intended.

So, i'm not the only one who found each character far too stereotypical? Someone was called a "Bigot" for pointing it out when *Spoilers below* I mean, Sasha's constantly making sex jokes - Daan seems to have a warped perception of justice (As we see in the Suspicion Route), Eva's a walking pop culture reference with all the "LOL" and other abbreviations. Gio's the one who can't keep his aggression under control, as we see from him intimidating Mia during the common route and killing Harrison in the Greed ending. Isak seems to be some sort of deluded cultist. Mia's portrayed as a perfectionist (Can't really pick fault, i'm a perfectionist lol), Harrison is portrayed as being the egotistical one (Key evidence - Lust route, and the second investigation of the Suspicion Route). Valerie is portrayed as the tsundere of the group - given the fact that she's sometimes polite (Key evidence - her Trust Route event), but can also be manipulative (As evident from the fact that she's constantly making "requests" of Annika) - Despite being the one with the strongest memory, Annika is shown to be the most gullible (A point backed up by the fact that when she's outed in the end, she's the only one who looks nervous of the 4), Lumi seems to be the one with social anxiety (Given the fact that she's mostly quiet until she's outed as the murderer in the second trial, where she mentally snaps) and Chica seems to be the sort to put family before anyone else, given her reluctance to leave the island until Joana's returned to her

That one guy which I thought was gay turned out to be straight and a real fuckboy too, apparently Meanwhile the ones I thought was straight turned out the gay ones in the end. But the Yuri characters are the ones that I entirely never could have guessed.

Yeah I think they brought up DR in order to catch the eyes of DR fans, as it's the most mainstream/recognizable title among the genre, but as you've stated, if it doesn't deliver on that, it can backfire. World's End Club initially introduced itself that way and turned some peeps off once they realized the true narrative in its later advertising. I personally love the Atmospheres Kodaka and Uchikoshi create so I didn't mind at all.

The music is decent kinda just chills in the background…the length…really depends on show fast you read and if you know what you want. I’d say 20-30 hours on a first play through.

@@ZerkyP30 I started playing the full game last night. It's all right so far. In most cases, you're just choosing who to hang out with in a pretty relaxed scenario. But there a few times when you're forced into an event that ends up teaching you more about one or more particular characters. Looks like there's a lot of build-up in the beginning but I imagine it'll pay off later on.

Can every character die? I´m currently at day 50 and spending most of my time with eva and annika lol. Yet there is little to no sense of tension, let alone a feeling that death or danger is imminent

Apart from the fact that it feels more like the game dev's way of projecting his beliefs on you (As backed up by the fact that the Communications manager says that he was open to feedback, and then the main CEO was bawling like a baby because he was getting negative feedback)
