I like the music. It is not wrap or opera. I also like it when you explain what you are doing, then stop then music. The kids and dogs do not bother me. Maybe to save your back try to get a forester in and look things over. He can tell you what to take, keep, and plan for the future on the tree farm. They came in on my brothers small wood lot and gave us a plan of the whole area. It cost money but it helped a lot. Could someone come in to thin the trees for you to save your back? It could mean money in your pocket and save your back.

You should watch Wild Homestead . He is just finishing up his cabin also in Ontario. He hand peels logs and uses a gas powered peeler. I am sure you could pick up some tips from his channel. Another good one to watch is Cabin River Outdoors. That one is filmed here in BC. Both great channels! Of course there is the film done by Dick Proenneke. He built his cabin way back in the 60s and filmed it all. He was a KZbinr before there was KZbin!! He built his cabin in Alaska all with hand tools. Super interesting to watch. Oh and happy birthday!!

You should get some protection for your head. Dead limbs and such can fall from the top while you are focused on the bottom. That was dangerous at 13:30! Also do you have any wedges to persuade the tree to fall?

I don't know what ASMR stands for? 9:32 I could hear something but could not make it out clear enough to know it was a dog. Having a dog barking, children playing, chickens making chicken noises, or the sound of the wind is authentic. If that is real life ASMR, than that is what I prefer over music constantly but I also like your suggestion of blending as well. It is your channel, so if you like to be editing and put in music, then of course do that. It was kind of cool listening to a bit of pumped up music when you didn't answer the phone and the tree was getting cut, lol. Reminded me of jaws, lol. Maybe you have theatrical/drama training? 😀That sort of music I could get into because it adds to the storyline of what you are sharing. My daughter took 3 yrs of theatrical arts in North Bay when we lived in ON. 18:25 Haha, now she calls me when I'm almost dead. That was funny. I also have many back issues like yours, including fibromyalgia and would find this job of peeling bark difficult. If you don't pace yourself, you will be in bed/couch for days. That is the balancing of getting work done for sure. A portable mill would be good for you, as it cuts all the outer bark off. 25:24 the music began and just over 1 full min later you put music with a question mark up 26:30 and ask about ASMR. I'll take ASMR having just listened to over a full minute of music already. I typically would click through all music parts but am only listening now because you are asking. I don't mind listening to the machinery but blended is good also. This note is getting long so I will post my comment and continue on after a break. Perhaps I will finish the video tomorrow because I typically am good for long format videos at the 30 min mark. You guys are making great progress and the path to the roadway is looking good 🙂

I don't know the cost, but I've seen a few other youtubers debarking using an attachment to their drills. Or maybe it was it's own machine but it could be worth the investment with its time savings.

I will definitely invest into something like that. I wanted to get the debarking disk that goes on a 9" angle grinder, but it's quite expensive...... the debarking tool that attaches to a chainsaw is more affordable.

I watched a few of your videos and don't think I wish you ill, it's just obvious that you don't think much about what you're doing. After all, all you have to do is trim the trunk well once, fix it on the other side and the tree will lie down, instead of trimming it five times - wasting energy running around the trunk unnecessarily. Turn the plane upside down. Best regards.

Guys so been watching for a while now and suggest you shorten your content some as an hour to watch trees come down is way to long. I know you are trying to brand yourselves but asking people to donate funds right now when content and editing needs some work as you learn and hone your skills, isn't something I for one would donate to. You chose to live up there and must have expected there would be costs like new equipment you would have to plan for. Also have you searched your name on KZbin, there are way to many accounts that start with "Off Grid with" maybe try Gina & Thi Off Grid Adventures so people can find it faster and you might gather more subscribers. Please don't be offended I know you are just starting off, just want to share some of what I see when I tune in. Cheers. P.S. best to peel logs when frozen or early spring lol

So far we are happy with our channel and the community we are building. Thanks for watching... take care!
