I think you should have stockpiled the free gravel you got and put a 2” gravel in for the base and put the fine gravel on top

Good documentary on TVO called Borealis. About the type of forest you live in.

Dude, awesome road. Anyone who’s doing what you’re doing is not lazy! Especially when you take it up a notch and add Alaska into the mix. Hahahaha, then kids and dogs, wow. Great channel my friend.

You need to drop the trees in winter and let them season through the winter and the spring, so that you can start your building in summer. So go ahead and clear that patch.

Good job but I think you need to look at drainage (ditches) and a culvert by that log pile. That can be done in the spring after the thaw. Keep on Truckin!

Things are coming along. Good idea to get the road done before winter. It's crazy how close winter is. Wish we made time to come up to see your property. Can't wait to see your dream all complete. Thanks for sharing your journey with us 😊

I remember years ago when a friend of mine was adding gravel to an old driveway that had been there for many years. He added bags of Lime with on top of the gravel and watered it in. The next day it compacted down pretty firm and after that it just got harder. I have no idea whether this would work for you I just thought I would mention it. You're doing great Pal, keep up the great work and great video's.
@OffGridWithGinaThiАй бұрын
Great suggestion! I will look into it. Thank you for watching. Take care.

It is a slow process while trying to raise a family too.
@OffGridWithGinaThiАй бұрын
It is! We've joked around, saying how it would be easier if it was just us two. But it's been an amazing family experience, and the kids motivate us. Thanks for watching, friend!

hi there Gina and thi! i found something that i dident know exist, i was looking at a homestead video and he used something called " rock glue " in short, the guy in the homestead video dug up a path then he put up big stones and put them on the side off the path then he put diffrent small stones on that path and afterwards then he put the rock glue on the side off that path but on the small rocks so it become firm and it would not spread out when he drove on it. basically rock glue is something you can put on small stones to glue them together so they dont go every where you dont want them. i come and think off you guys becasue you are doing a rock road to the place were you are going to place your home and this little trick could maybe help you whit that and i thought you maybe was like me and did not know this exist, anyways have a great day !

Do you guys know how deeply buried you are in the KZbin algorithm? FYI…thought you’d want to know. 😊Have to dive deep to find you even tho I’m subscribed.

Make sure to hit that notification bell so you get notified in future videos :) we are still a small channel and only have a small number of videos. KZbin is definitely a journey and not a race. Thanks for watching 🙂
