@SerbStar2011 A couple of reasons: 1. The PS3 was a notoriously difficult console to develop for due to its unique hardware, and thus porting these games are quite difficult. Hence why not a lot of PS3 games have been ported to PS4/PS5 2. A lot of these older games are for game franchises that haven't been relevant for years or have sequels that essentially render them redundant because they're the same gameplay but better/better looking etc. 3. The market for ports is small but the market for remakes (when done right) is much larger. So either a company takes a chance with a difficult port of an old game that may only appeal to a small market or it could invest its resources in a remake of a classic to bring up to current standards

@fransisigos okay im asking why games like metal gear solid 4 and infamous wouldn't make money not why is it so hard to port games :( And your reasons I just don't believe. I dont believe that the massive loyal playstation fanbase that sony has cultivated for decades wouldn't hesitate for a second at a chance to buy these games on modern hardware running at high framerates and resolutions. As for steam you really don't think that pc users wouldn't jump at the chance to play these games that they never had access to?? Small market for ports? Just look at literally every ps exclusive that has been ported on steam. But infamous won't do as well as Days Gone apparently.

Many thanks for your hard work, I bought a ps3 recently to replay this game and it doesn't run really well especially since it's like 480p at best ^^ I might try this sometimes soon, I have almost the same config as you

According to the RPCS3 wiki, the game runs at full 1280×720p resolution, not 480p. PS3 games looked very good on HDready (720p) TVs, but now people are playing on higher resolution displays and normal upscaling blurs the image and increases pixelation very noticeably. Fortunately, there's a way to upscale low-resolution content to a much better quality, so you can make 720p games look sharp and clean. It's possible, because 4K resolution and HDR allow for extremely convincing CRT phosphor mask emulation, so modern 4K panel literally turns into a CRT allowing people to enjoy lower resolution content with perfect clarity (native like sharpness). Thanks to CRT phosphor emulation the picture quality is so much improved compared to standard upscaling that even a resolution as low as 480p is pleasing to the eye. I would go so far as to say that older games look even better at lower resolutions because all the imperfections are masked at 480p (textures look sharper, low poly modes look much more convincing, and LOD transition and popin is much more difficult to notice). All PlayStation consoles have sharp picture quality if you are only willing to put some effort into making it look good.

PS3 emulation is sadly CPU heavy. Which is a shame, because the rest of gaming will usually do fine with a [mid tier CPU]+[high tier GPU] combo, but for PS3 emulation the CPU matters a lot more that the GPU.
