Jen, you look so much healthier and seem to have so much more energy! I remember your first videos. Even when you were not having a migraine it looked like you didn't have much energy. And now even with two kids at home, you seem to have much more! I am so happy for you :)

It's SO TRUE. I'm doing much better since POTS Care last August. My eyes are soooo dead in my first videos, and that was my literal best times of the week, as making the videos & caring for/training Buddy were my only work tasks. That was tip-top shape. I'm so grateful. I can't believe you see it too.

I am 38 years old and my lingual formula looks pretty much the same way yours did before you had it revised. I have known for a while that I need to get it taken care of but I have been dragging my feet. I appreciate your videos on the subject it is helping me to realize how much I should step it up and get things going!

This is so interesting! I was tongue tied when I was a baby and I never knew anyone else who had the same issue, so seeing you make a video on it is awesome. Being tongue tied meant I was a formula baby, but I’m glad my parents got mine revised because mine was all the way to the tip of my tongue. I can’t imagine how different my childhood would’ve been had it not been revised! By the way, I cannot reach my top teeth with my tongue whilst my mouth is wide open. Maybe my tongue tie is still partially there 😂

This is a great video - I have seen/heard lots of people in breastfeeding communities talk about tongue and lip ties, but they rarely explain the reality or how revisions can be done. Also - I can just about touch the back of my top front teeth when my mouth is open wide

Another way to do it is to get it pierced. Eventually it grows out in maybe 6 months, and results in a similar effect to doing it surgically. And you have a fun thing in the meantime. I didn't have a problem but I had mine pierced as a teenager and I've noticed much better tongue mobility. Very cool side effect.

@@MommingwithMigraine - There are dental specialists for TMJ disfunction. (temporal mandibular joint) That is the joint that is popping. A specialist can be hard to find but an oral surgeon should have a recommendation. It might be worth looking into as the pain/soreness can increase as you age. (your ENT might have a recommendation?)

You dentist or hygienist should have mentioned it at some point during visits. I'm sorry no one pointed it out. It's an easy procedure & very helpful. If you have it done, remember to keep rinsing with warm salt water several times a day for 2-3 days. It helps with healing & discomfort. :)

I’ve always had a small mouth and been told to “open wider” at the dentist. My jaw also used to pop, and still can, on one side that braces helped with. My tongue hurts when I stretch it too far and can barely touch my teeth when my mouth is open. I also have chronic migraines and experience headaches from jaw changes. Very interesting. I will have to ask my dentist next time I go in. Thank you for sharing! ♥️

I used to not be able to touch my top teeth with my tongue when my mouth was fully open due to a massive overbite. External headgear only did so much still have an overbite but not as bad as it was and can now touch my top teeth . Have some of the issues mentioned on this list even though I never had a tongue tie.

I never knew I had a tongue tie until I looked it up when hearing about babies having it. I thought it was normal to not be able to touch the roof of your mouth with your tongue when your mouth was wide open lol. I heard that you have to retrain your tongue how to talk, eat, swallow, etc. after the surgery so that scares me if I suddenly can’t speak right. My big question is, did your tongue flop around and feel like it was going down your throat afterwards? I have a bad gag reflex and tend to choke easily so the idea of my tongue just flopping around loose in my mouth freaks me out. 😮

If the tongue tie isn’t effecting you negatively I would not get it cut. I got my bottom lip tie cut as it was causing dental issues when I was a teenager. It was extremely painful for 5 days. I had some swelling too. I still have a tight top lip tie but am choosing to not get it done as it’s not causing problems like my bottom did.

Hi Nurse, did you comment before hearing my thoughts? If you read the title of the video, I have symptoms that my tongue tie is too tight. If you watch the video, I spend half of it discussing the ways it has negatively affected me. At the end of the video, you can see that it has already been revised.

So do most people not have a frenulum at all?! Just realizing that I may have a tongue tie and upper and lower lip ties.
