every time I see the Italians or French in this game I can't help but wish for a north African campaign timeline for a steel division game. back when the M3 lee was common and the Tiger I was brand new. Panzer 3 was the mainline medium tank of the Germans and the T-34 and Kv-1 were still new and using the 76mm guns only.

@@atkpwrgaming they could still include the battles over Poland and eastern France and the initial German invasion of the soviet union. but duking it out in the desert could be a nice change of the color pallet.

gg! Definitely went a little better than our match haha, but definitely a tough marchup for CIL it feels. One benefit of the 75mm howitsers is that they come with a ton of ammo meaning you can really keep them firering which was very useful this game.

Yeah I just feel like the infantry aren't as efficient on the Italian side and that makes it hard to win out

I remember an IAR and SFKFZ7/1 combo to bait enemy fighter at the start of the game. That was fantastic.

I heard just a piano note behind i was super happy to heard Super Easter egg we want more like that ! For the versatile infantry like Arditi or Komandosi i find them great bc they are versatile and if you manage them they can do plenty of missions. I assume that my pov is the one of armored div focused player whereas yours is the one of an infantry div focused player. You put specialist above the generalist. Last point and i stop to annoy u, the bren is not bad his problem is the suppression that it does compared to other mg but the damage that it does is good. That’s why use cover smartly is super important with bren. CW divs are good but only in very good hands, combined arms, use cover and indirect fire of 2-inch are skills needed for them. See the league final 3 CW victorious 😮

I’ve been noticing a few niche weapons seems to be pretty good at direct HE support, the F-22, vickers AA, 80mm AA, M1936 105 etc

yeah the F-22 and the Zis-3 are nasty for anti infantry duty with their HE shells because they have proper artillery level HE damage instead of the tank damage model so they kill nearly twice as much per shot. IIRC they do 3.8 damage per shot.

3.8 is indirect only, though direct fire is still pretty nice at 2.2, ig18 levels

Probably just game balance. Pretty much all small and medium caliber arty does more indirect damage than direct, for example 122 arty do 6.1 indirect but iirc 4.8 direct.

Yeah its weird because these arty pieces do different damage depending on whether they use indirect or direct fire

Off map is gross, but start of the game transport bombing or Napalming is the worse.

Yeah that ruins the game right from the start that is true, but in competitive gameplay anything goes thats just the way it is

Can't brens fire within 100m? It's nothing at 700m but a nice boost to rifle and SMG in their ranges? Also if eugen want to be historic then the piat was used HE against infantry and fortifications, direct and indirect

They can because they are automatic rifles, but the main purpose of an lmg is to help the long range, which it does not really

Twelve seconds in and I already have a complaint. FOUR? FOUR unfilled 1pt Recon slots? I'm offended on general principle. Edit: Holy **Shit** that IAR. Edit: RE 12:56 - The Sherman typically had one Browning as a Co-ax (so aligned with the main gun); a Browning as a Bow gun (manned by the Radio Op when he wasn't busy Radioing) and the M2 on the turret top, nominally for AA duties. So, how it *should* work is that the turret stuck crit would also (functionally) disable the Browning installed as the Co-ax, as it can only fire at whatever the turret is pointing at.
