I love your podcast but as a Pakistani, I think its quite offensive to think that Pakistani's want to be Arab because they (Arabs) are supposedly considered more attractive. There is nothing to back this up and perhaps says more about your subconscious biases towards Pakistanis. The point regarding religious beliefs is true though. If you are Pakistani diaspora and you were raised going to an islamic school, learning arabic etc and are not taught about Pakistani history (we are home to some of the oldest civilisations on the planet) naturally these kids will gravitate towards the Arab culture. Also, in South Asia, after partition the Indians who moved to Pakistan (only 8% of Pakistan's current population) often claimed Saudi ancestry to take them out of the caste system.

I think he meant lighter skin color in the aspect of beauty. There are a lot of ethnicities out there who prefer Arabs or claim to be Arabs just because they have fairer skin tone and that’s generally what a lot of people around prefer.

Hey, just wanted to add that as an avid watcher of M squared he has stated that he’s half Yemeni and half Pakistani on his channel. Not sure if the Yemeni part is purely due to where he was born or he’s exaggerating but I’ve definitely heard him state it before 💅🏼💅🏼💅🏼

First pakistani people try to claim that they are arab and haidar talking about how they shouldnt etc but than 2 secs later haidar tries to claim pakistani simillar to afghan but you will never see a pakistani relate to be being bengali or indian when they have more in common which just shows that pakistanis think that afg obv superior that why they want to be afghan so bad this i probs the 100th time i have heard someone from pakistan talk like this litreally just stick to your own ethnicity first arabs now afghans
