This should be inferno’s corporate installation video. I watched this video 10 times before installing mine. One thing I would add to make things easier is to put the T-valve on the heater line first, then feed it through the machine to the front. Made the install way easy for that portion. Still took FOREVER! Mainly because I didn’t want to screw anything up. Heater works great so far! Great video!!!

Followed this over the weekend. Great video. A couple notes: I went right by the video and dremmeled out the floor vent holes using the pattern. The holes on my pattern were bigger that the 2.5 inch holes called for in the written instructions. I had to use material from the storage box I cut off screw it over the panel and drill new holes. Easy fix, but read the instructions and go with the right hole saw. If I did it again I would make my holes in the FW for the supply and return coolant just a bit farther to the left than pictured. It puts the hose very close to shock springs and there was room to go just a bit left and not kink the hose turning to the heater core. I just reached in with a sharp knife and cut a small gap out of the rear hose splice. The valve position shown at install is correct, but the valve itself is in the "off" position to get heat. In line is heat bypass 90 Degrees is "on" for the heater coil. My factory radiator hose connection leaked after install using the same factory clamp. It still had tension was installed exactly as it had been, but leaked. I highly recommend having a couple of hose clamps big enough for that connection on hand and replace those factory pressure clamps. That leaking caused a delay in getting air out of the coolant system, but it wasn't too bad. Great video and very happy with this product. Still too warm here to truly test, but it really kicks out heat I am very confident it will heat the cab even with my soft Seizmik doors.

My install went great thanks to a lot of Your tips. To bleed all of the air from the coolant system after completion, While engine is running, Use a small furniture clamp and clamp off the lower part of the oil cooler hose. Then drive it around a while and after it cools down top off radiator.

Just installed an Inferno on a 2014 Polaris Ranger XP900 Deluxe. Just a few hints for those about to do the same thing: 1. In most 900 rangers, the part about removing the glove box is not correct. The glove box is actually part of the bottom dash. Removing is easy by one person, just take out all of the screws and bolts holding it on. A few sharp tugs and it will come out. 2 people always works best to reinstall the bottom. 2. For installing the Y connector to the bottom hose on the radiator, its much easier to drain the radiator and remove that hose. I did the clamps at first, but its pretty tight to work on, so I finally took it off and it was super easy. Also, jack up the unit and remove the passenger front tire. Makes the job much easier. 3. For cutting the switch hole, I highly recommend a rotary tool with a cutting bit. 4. For the defrost vent holes, skip the hot blade crap. I used a rotary tool for one, then switched to a drill and a jigsaw for the other. The jigsaw works MUCH better there. 5. For the bottom vent holes, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. The template they provide should ONLY be used to find the center of the 2 holes. DO NOT cut the holes as big as the template. The 2.5" hole saw is the exact size hole you need, but the template shows much bigger holes. Again, follow the directions here. 6. Tin snips work best for cutting the hoses. They give you more hose than you need. The 3' cut for the upper heater core connection is much longer than you need. I say measure and cut what you need depending on where you mounted the heater core. My cut was about 24". 7. They don't give you a dimension for the rocker switch hole. It should be 1.4" tall, and about .8" wide. Best to push the wire harness head through the hole you just cut, connect to switch, then push everything back into the hole. 8. Fill radiator with any GREEN 50/50 mix and wait a few minutes. The level will drop as it flows into each new hose and core. I started the unit for a few seconds, shut it off, and refilled again. Then took it for a test drive. Got it hot, let it cool down, then refilled again. I did this a few times and the level stopped going down. 9. The heater works GREAT. I will say that the higher you rev it in cold weather, the more it moves coolant around, and more heat you get quickly. When idling, the heat drops off, but if you rev it up, the heat picks up instantly. 10. Most 900 Rangers have a winch from the factory. The winch remote connector is mounted in the lower part of the dash which you are going to remove. Find the flat cable that runs from the back of that connector to the front area under the hood and separate the connector. There will be one red wire left that also runs to that connector. I simply cut that wire, and when reinstalling, I stripped both ends and used a level nut to reconnect them. You could use a wire nut, tape, butt splice, etc. but just know if you have a winch, you will have this issue that is not covered in the instructions.

Ur video saved me time! I cut 1” off lower radiator hose and 1 1/4” off oil cooler hose and all went perfect. Did learn that the 20” duct hose should be for top vents and 16” for floor vents. Also cut off the entire “cubby hole” right behind cubby hole cover by using recepacle saw. Hardest part was reinstall of bottom dash because it was only me-no help.

@jddowne3 жыл бұрын
@@chasduster I haven’t ran it it temps below 30 yet, but at 30 degrees and low speeds you have to turn it on low or take clothes off. If you’re plowing at low speeds, and you have your cab sealed up tight it should sweat you out of there! The Polaris cab seal kit was a big help when driving on the street...anything over about 10 mph had a lot of draft coming in without it.

Don’t know about your cab but on my 900xp I get wind from everywhere around dash and rear. Did you seal any of those spots when you put your heater in?

Yes I had the same problem, very drafty. I mention towards the end of the video that I installed the Polaris cab seal kit. It has a bunch of custom cut foam pieces that help a lot to cut the draft out.
