Another problem is that a lot of writers really struggle to actually portray a smart character as intelligent. A lot of writers are not very good at it and essentially make their smart characters just intuitively "know" everything they need for the plot whereas many characters in detective series where the draw is the detective aspect the detective must reach a rational conclusion and do so in a way that is believable. Death Note is such a standout series because it largely doesn't cut corners when it comes to showing the thought processes. There's no instance of, like, L looking at the camera feed in the Yagami household and being able to just sense that Light modified his desk and that must be where he's keeping the power of Kira which must necessarily be a notebook because, "Oh he just knows because he's smart." Even the largest ass pull of the series (in terms of intelligence, not the copying of the notebook in one night) is at least explained to some extent, even if it's a bit contrived.

As an avid SCD scaler, in terms of outsmarting the list should go: 1. Lelouch 2. Ayanokouji 3. Light 4. Johan 5. Aizen 6. Senku 7. Eren Bear in mind, this is outsmarting which takes into account multiple facets of intelligence. The list would be very different if this was a FSIQ ranking instead for example.
