Thank you for sharing your journey Kayla. As a a young woman who is visually impaired I found this very interesting. there were accessibility barriers that you mentioned related to the infertility experience that I wouldn’t have thought of but made sense once you explain. I wish you the best of luck going forward and as someone who also has very high medical anxiety I admire you a great deal for facing in your fear and that way by repeatedly going through various medical interventions.

Cayla, I'm 57 years old and I've known and still know a lot of people that are blind and have had kids. While it does have it's challenges, there are million's of couples have a baby where the wife is blind. I wish yall all the best and I'll pray for yall to get pregnant soon. By the way, my wife has to do medical things for me at times. When you can do those kind of things for each other, that's real love to me.

I wish you teh best of luck on your fertility journey, Cayla! My girlfriend and I have discussed eventually maybe wanting a kid or two (we would want to be married and whatnot first), but I am unsure. I still see well enough to work as a high school teacher and take care of almost all basic tasts (driving is the big exception) but my girlfriend also has cerebral palsy in her right arm and leg and so I am just worried that if we were successful in having a child that we could give them the life they'd deserve.

I hope you get pregnant soon! I know how difficult is it, we got pregnant at the end of December last year and I had a miscarriage at the end of Feb this year. I started a vegan diet as a way to maximize my health as a fertility doctor recommended it since meat is quiet inflammatory and I have arthritis. Thank you for sharing your experience with infertility and being blind while going through it.

Hi Kayla, I noticed that you were having problems with transportation. Have you tried to find out if your town or county has an Access transportation service? This service is for people who have physical disabilities, mental disabilities as well as blindness. I used to service for two different counties and absolutely loved it. I hope this information will help you going forward. The price is very reasonable from $4 to a Max of$5.25 each way. I hope this information helps.

I looked into it a few years ago and what we had available was very small scale and quite unreliable. Maybe it’s gotten better since then and I should check again though. Thanks for the tip

Hey Cayla, Just making a comment on the self injections. I myself am blind and have had to give myself injections. Not only am I diabetic, but I was also on dialysis and had to take medications to raise red blood cell counts. Now I am also on an injectable medication to control inflammation. The thing I have found most helpful is being able to have medications in a pen form. Most insurance companies will probably be a little difficult to cover them, but in your case it is medically necessary and your doctor should be able to get them without a problem. Of course this is if the medications are available in a pen form. The thing that makes them so convenient and easy is most come in a pre-measured, single use. If not, you can usually measure the medication yourself. These types of pens will have a knob that turns on the top and will click for each unit measurement. Best of all, you don't have to worry about air bubbles in these. Single use pens are also convenient because the needle is completely covered. It has a cap that covers the needle until you are ready to use. You just align the pen with your injection site, push down and the needle pops out directly into your skin. It will continue to inject the medication and click once the full dosage is given. Once you lift up, the needle retracts into the pen and you can throw it away. Self administering injections can definitely be intimidating at first. I feel like the more you do it, the more you get more comfortable with it. As a fellow blind person, you know how much being able to do things yourself gives you back that sense of independence. Wishing y'all the best of luck on your journey!

Cayla, have you had eye lens analyzed by a cataract mapping machine? Visual examinations are not accurate. My doctor wasn't convinced my cataract was bad enough until his machine said severe cataract condition. A lot of the symptoms you described in videos points to cataracts and posterior capsular opacification. Most likely you have both. RP eye lens are messed up from RP inflammation. Loss of contrast, fogginess, glare and declining of acuity are signs of cataracts.

Hi, I am intrested in that thermometer thing you are using. Could you make a video about the device and its app?
@CaylawithaC Жыл бұрын
Hi! I don’t know that I have a whole lot else to say about it to make that into a separate video. Do you have any specific questions that I could answer?
@Snajper05 Жыл бұрын
@@CaylawithaC general how do you pare the device with app? Where did you get it from? How accurate its measurements are? Do you get any feedback when it is terning on? That is all for now. 🙂
@CaylawithaC Жыл бұрын
@@Snajper05 I bought it online on the Tempdrop website. I believe the measurements are pretty accurate, definitely more accurate then it would be doing it manually. To pair the device with the app, there’s a button in the app labeled sync that you tap and then you press and hold the button on the device, and then the button in the app will change from sync to syncing and then tell you when it’s complete. The only feedback the device gives when you turn it on is a flashing light, but if you press and hold and count to four in your head you should be good to go

Have you and your husband tried the keto diet? It couldn’t hurt, and it may help. I have heard some success stories from it. You should use all organic vegetables and grass fed meat whenever possible. 😊

Please try doing Keto before spending tons of money on IVF. So many women get pregnant by doing Keto right away without the trauma of IVF. Granted its not for everyone but its a chance for free.
