Thank you for this interesting video! My understanding is that different clinics (and countries) all use a different grading system. My embryos were all C grade but I'm finally pregnant with my daughter! Don't lose faith if you have a lower grade embryo!

Hello Dr, I have underwent 3 IVF cycles. All of them failed. Te last cycle I had 5AA blastocyst transfer, it got implanted,got bhcg result 22.58 on day 14 blood test after transfer but on day 18th the result became negative. I did chromosomal genetic testing and it was a normal blastocyst with no complication. May I know the reason for this failure

Doctor my wife had conceived via IVF . After 2 months anencephaly neural tube defect was detected and pregnancy was terminated. She was taking 12mg of progynova estrogen supplement, along with Sustene progesterone supplement, 300 micro gram of folic acid and other doctor suggested medications. I had rounds 4 IVF total of 5 transfers. The first 2 were normal per PGT but it didn't result to pregnancy. 3rd and 4th no PGT neither pregnancy but on the 5th a 4BB grade embryo without PGT resulted to pregnancy but miscarried at 8 weeks - blighted ovum.

I am 36 and had 13 eggs retrieved from almost 30 follicles.. meaning many were empty.. do you know why this may be? 9 were fertilized with IMSI and now we are waiting to know how many survive.. they are being frozen because I my LH started rising before the medication to stop it was given. Very very interesting topic!! It’s so true that grading is just so subjective!! Also, I had 3 embryos that made it to blastocyst/freeze and they were biopsied before freeze. Guess what? I had a 4AA, 4AA, and a 3AB embryos. The Normal ones?? 1 of the 4AA’s and the 3AB!! One of my 4AA’s had chromosomal abnormalities! I thought for sure the 3AB wouldn’t be “Normal” in its chromosomal structures. Well, I was wrong and just goes to show even the “prettiest embryos” aren’t always the best! I’m currently 13w6d pregnant from my PGS normal 4AA embryo and have my other little one, the 3AB waiting for me for transfer sometime in the future 🥰

I just had my first IVF cycle and I was able to get 28 blasts to freeze. On day 5 I 10 blasts- 4 of AA quality the rest AB and BA. However the expansion rate for all was only 3. The next day, day 6 I had 18 more make it to blasts 10 of which were AA all expanded to 4 or more. However I didn’t test my day 6 embryos and I am kicking myself. I realized that the reason the embryos were growing slower is because I asked the lab to specifically try to produce girls and studies show that girls develop slower than boys most times right? So I guess my question is would you prefer to use a Day 5 3AA or a day 6 4AA? I was told the day matters more too

The lab can't specifically produce girls. They can only guess which sperms are female and which are male, there's no way to tell before PGA testing of the blastocyst (at which point sex is already determined).

This is not about egg quality it's about maturity. M2 our eggs that can have a sperm added to attempt fertilization. M1 eggs are immature and therefore cannot be fertilized unless they mature further
