glad to see they are back. I grabbed 2 sets when you 1st dropped a mention bout them.. Great stuff I love it.. even used it with some of my military builds as well. I'm really sorry about Smokie, he was a handsome lad kinda reminded me of My Trubbies. Take it easy and look forward to the next build ya show us.

Bought two sets when they came out, cost an arm and a leg to get em shipped to my corner of hell, never was happier with a purchase! Used em on all my projects since, made me look like someone who knows what he is doing, well worth every cent! Rip Smokie

That Toonami story resonates with a lot of us. Had to sneak downstairs to watch it along with 0083. Never would've thought to kit bash the resin and the Ver KA. The final construction and paint are amazing, especially with your signature burnt titanium look that you put on the verniers. And a big farewell to Smokey.

@ItsAGunpla, first what an awesome build! Really an epic MG Nu Gundam Ver. Ka with the Infinite Dimensions Resin Kit. Enjoyed this thoroughly and really loved the Chrome Tape suggestion. Have to look into that for my future builds. Thank you. Secondly, all my sympathies and regards with the passing of Smokie. I hope that Smokie's spirit lives on with you, and may their memory be a blessing to you. 🫂
@lllXanderlll3 сағат бұрын
Really dug the music in this one. The paint job of course looks really good as always. That tip about using chrome tape was something I'd honestly never considered before and it sounds like it could be quite useful.

Awesome as always! Btw with your Sony a7siii they have a two stage gain iso. Basically meaning it has two starting points. (That’s why you are seeing grain after a certain iso but then it goes away at 12k ish then comes back.) first stage is 640 then it kicks into the second stage at 12800. Meaning you could be at 10k iso and it looks like sandpaper but then 12800 is silky smooth. It’s handy for seeing in the dark but you’re right, it does create a weird gap where it’s either too bright or grainy. Lighting changes or lens f stop changes can help correct or counteract that gain stage. My Sony a7riv is at 100 then 400iso so it’s camera dependent. Just thought I’d drop some camera knowledge as an ex camera salesman at a small unassuming photography store. And a current photographer
@OddNewtype14 сағат бұрын
Also anything under 640 is a LO gain stage, meaning the phot diodes are no longer backlit and will increase contrast as a result. So going to LO50 iso looks like the upside down from stranger things

The true king returns! Watching for a second time cos damn, that's exquisite work! Both the model and the cinematography! Loving that close-up zoom out near the end, feels like real-scale! What's with the wires but not lit up? Didn't work out? Sorry for your loss, losing a family member is never easy. I tried using chrome pens, but after seeing this I'll give tape a try. Temu pens are surprisingly okay, and you can use the "ink" with a brush for tiny dots and such. Takes a day to dry though and hard to get an even coating on larger areas.

I swear Gundam you got me into gunpla and now my bank’s gonna know it…I started with a RX-78-2 because it’s the og Gundam and moved to a Char’s Z’gok which were relatively cheap. I’ve loved every second of it but I see some other kits I want but 60 bucks per kit is nuts to a broke college kid.

Did you do anything to reinforce the fin funnel connections? My most distinct memory of building this kit (without the resin kit since I'm afraid of nuking my lungs) was spending a week gluing tiny magnets inside those funnels. It was not pleasant, but a good learning experience.

In the past you said that you preferred custom articulating hands for Ver-Ka kits, is that no longer the case, or have they improved dye-sub process where they don't snap as easy? Also, I wanted to convey my sincerest condolences over the loss of Smokey.
