About the infinite: It's actually a well studied problem in math (its called a birth-death process). If your EV of rolls > 1, it goes on forever (with non zero probability). When you hit dancer, you were not infinite as your EV was 1. In fact, if your EV is 1 (and there is some randomness) you will almost surely stop (polynomially slowly rather than exponentially)

is it actually 1? id think its more than 1 (though not that significant) since its a total of 6 pips on 2 dice, which can give u double reroll rolls, i might be wrong too here

@@KAMUPhobies so dancer has a 1/3 chance of 2, and sorc has a 1/6 chance of 2 which gives 2*(1/3+1/6) = 1

There is a world in which basalt deathbeams your sorcerer, you low roll on mana turn 1, and sorcerer cantrips themselves to death the next turn with glass heart. Coulda considered stoic for that reason imo.

thats one of the reasons i stopped using spotify. i had a playlist (not one i made) that i really loved and one day it changed. not wildly, like maybe 10% of the songs were switched out for other songs. but they removed some of my favourites, and there was no record on what was changed. so i lost those songs forever.

Ermm actually the probability of eventually running out of rerolls with that setup is 100%, so it's not a theoretical infinite 🤓

This is true. The only "real" infinite is if you have 0 Xs all rerolls.
