Actually the tip breaks quite easily on impact with a hard surface. Most these pens (at least this brand) use quite brittle metals/alloys.

Nonsens, impossible. Everlasting? It leaves metal behind, do really think it reappears out of thin air? Replacement tips are even available. Not so good job, sorry. Greetings from Netherland

Don't confuse the Axel Weinbrecht pen (metal tip) with Chinese knock offs (replaceable non metal tips). "Everlasting" is an exaggeration, but it may outlast you.
