This was om their 1st release. A mini LP. They were unknown. I got a copy from a friend at the record label. Loved all the songs. A friend borrowed it and I never saw it again. ( it was a cassette in 87').

@kevinb68312 жыл бұрын
for me this is their best ever live performance, sound wise. No running around the stage, no open air to distort the noise - it really shows how great they were. They so rarely did these sort of performances/venues.
@mooknick242 Жыл бұрын
i saw GnR a few times..twice while they were openers..I saw them open for INXS and the Stones and when they were openers on a small stage they were the most unbelievable thing you have ever seen. When they got to be headliners and Axl ran around on the big stage constantly out of breath they started to suck. They went from the absolutely best thing on a stage to the worst. Lol me and all my high school friends thought Axl was the coolest thing ever until those use ur illusion shorts he wore on stage.

I loved the dark humor of GnR back in the day. Most people probably assume this was Axl's lyrics, but I believe they were Izzy Stradlin's. Apparently he heard a country song on the radio where the singer was complaining about his wife, so Izzy decided to write a kind of satirical song riffing on that country trope.

Part of the joy of Gun N Roses is the element of humor that hides within some of the lyrics.

I heard an alternate story, that Izzy heard a country song on the radio, where the singer was complaining about his wife, so Izzy decided to write a song satirizing that country trope and theme. I think it garnered the band some mild controversy, though not nearly as much as One in a Million.

@lauraliszc Жыл бұрын
I read somewhere that Izzy Stradlin wrote it after he heard a man's phrase "I used to love her..." , after his dog was run over. I know that later in interviews he said that there could be other perspectives and he even related it to drxg addiction or something like that, I suppose for a deeper meaning, but yep, at the beginning it was that someone ran over a dog, he heard the phrase and wrote some verses. 😁 And people for a long time went crazy with the idea that Axl could be confessing a crime :v
@vilianavasileva82132 жыл бұрын
The actual story of the song is Izzy Stradlin rhythm guitar, lyrics writer of the song heard someone complaining for ages on the radio he just wrote this song. Or about his dog incessant barking there are two versions of it.
@GBizzee2 жыл бұрын
To my understanding the lyrics are not "she bitched so much", but instead "she bit so much", indeed referring to a dog.
@michaeljfoley12 жыл бұрын
Yeah from what I heard, Izzy was inspired to write the song when he heard some country singer complaining about his wife. It's basically a joke song. Dark humor, but I mean, it's Guns N Roses, so, it's fitting.
